I find that it works better to load hardware synths into Audiobus 3...just did a little jam with modstep driving my Circuit, AS-1 and 4 instances of Zeeon...and recorded into Cubasis for posterity...worked like a charm.
If I'm honest I just want BM3 to be a lot like modstep but wish modstep had the slick UI of BM3
We're so close to perfection with these two apps.
BM3 3.0.3 (5) beta has a very nice addition for those of us who use keyboards.
That's my cryptic beta tester teaser fix sorted for this morning!
White keys only scale lock I'm assuming. Ala caustic and thumbjam
Ah yeah, if that's the case then the hint is striking a very subtle note of difference between those who 'use' keyboards vs those who 'play' keyboards
You just literally described Beatmaker3!
I would love a 'BM3 Player' AU though.
We'll be getting AUv3 Midi sequencers soon which will be good for AUM. (And AB3)
Someone beat me up for spilling the beta beans a month ago so cryptic it is lol!
One major advantage for Modstep over BM3 right now is AB3 midi in and out. Hope this comes to BM3 soon, BM3 needs this feature
Check out Ruismaker-->Ab3 filters-->Modstep sampler for example.
hey ,
finally I post my first loop with BM3. Nice to work with...
Sorry but no story to tell you for a much more complicated song... just a little loop.

Drums & Percs : Ruismaker FM + Ruismaker
Bass : Poison202
Lead : Poison202.
Nice and funky man! Great job!
If you use MODSTEP in AUDIOBUS what setting in MODSTEP to have audio go to the output slot?
MODSTEP
How is this app for playing loops?
I get one shot work but do loops?
I am going to be trying just wondering others experience.
BM3 has somehow motivated me into MODSTEP.
Ass backwards as usual.
But the enemy of the enemy is your friend. Losing time figuring shit out is my enemy these days.
Thanx! I was wondering if it was not much "bizarre"... We tell me about my strange "music"..
Audio loops are not well supported in Modstep (unless you treat them as repeating one shots). It'd be the closest thing to Ableton Live on iOS if they were...
yrar
I think that the level of AU's now available has made me decide to go Modstep after many years with Genome.
The AUs are really ready for prime time IMHO.
So, now gotta learn MODSTEP.
Appreciate any feedback even if you PM me.
Thanks
Dig it!
I"ve tried to get into Modstep a dozen times and there's so much to like. And despite early issues, it really is stable now...
It's just that it doesn't quite work for me so that I'm creating without fiddling. I find myself fiddling with stuff in Modstep rather than getting into a flow. It feels like being in a science lab or something--almost academic somehow. As much trouble as I've had with the MIDI routing in BM3, I'm still more creative in BM3 overall (less fiddling and I come up with some really whack stuff).
Hope it works for you, because there are many here who are Modstep diehards and I trust their viewpoints.
Yeah its a shit show either way for me one way or another!
LOL
3 apps into LOOPY always does the music making good for me!
Very often after I get fed up with Modstep or BM3 or whatever, I end up right back with Loopy. Just fire it up and create!
i think i really need to make a "lets create" long form video at some point just to show how i use modstep+aum+krft+ab3+zmors......
Why yes. In fact, you do.
"Don't Blame Me, I Voted for GoneKrazy3000" bumper stickers soon available.
Don't forget AudioDabblers nice Modstep overview vids:
He offers up a few.
And ElectronicSounds has some great BeatMaker3 specific vids showing it's power and flexibility:

I really don't have much time these days so if I do end up making said video it will just be a raw recording of me messing around for 1-3 hrs without any commentary. Would that still interest you guys ? Also it will have to be in October since I'm goin on vacation for a month next week.
Beggars cannot be choosers.
So, yes!
