I’ve set up DigiStix in Cubasis, inserted Drambo as a midi fx on that track and recorded the midi to the track. The notes still show as 100% quantised in the note editor. It’s probably my lack of knowledge with Drambo. All I’ve done is inserted the midi humanise module and tweaked the velocity, offset and gate dials.

No sense of groove and can only add delay, not pre-delay, but useful for some things.
NICE! I didn't know that thread existed, lol. Thanks mate.
Maybe it doesn’t have to be live - just load the file in one track of a DAW with Mozaic and record the output to another track.
Make sure Cubasis has quantizing off as well, or your humanized output will get re-quantized when recording it.
@CracklePot thanks, have I got Drambo and cubasis set up correctly? Still locked to the grid
@BillS ,
There's a misunderstanding. The midi fx goes between the midi track (the midi sequence) and the instrument (drums). That means Cubasis plays the quantized sequence which will be 'randomly' adjusted (in velocity, timing, and gate) on the fly by Drambo. So the sequence you see in the editor remains quantized, but the instrument gets the sequence humanized.
@GLacey so I’ve set up a midi track in Cubasis with DigiStix loaded onto that track. I have Drambo added as a midi FX on that same track. Is that part correct?
Then, the editor will display quantised notes, but the audio coming from DigiStix will actually be humanised. Is that part correct?
Sorry if I’m being stupid and thanks for your patience.
Exactly. Try tweaking the knobs on the humanizer module while playing the sequence and you'll hear its effect.
I t looks mostly correct. You need to add a Midi Output module after the Humanize module in dRambo. Make sure it is getting Midi from the Humanize module (see Yellow markup), and also make sure Midi Output module is sending midi out of dRambo (see Red markup).
In Cubasis, you have quantize set correctly. Just don’t have it set to Auto, and make sure you don’t tap that Q button afterward, since that applies quantizing to the recorded track after it is recorded.
@CracklePot @GLacey boom! Now we’re rocking 😀 thanks guys
You’re welcome. Now you have the basic dRambo setup for using it as a Midi FX. You can swap out Humanize for other modules, or add other modules to make more complex FX. For most basic setups, just have the first module receiving the Track Midi input, and each successive module receiving from the one preceding it. At the end of the line you put the Midi Output module and set it to Midi Out for its destination.
Have fun! 😁
@CracklePot would you (or anyone) be kind enough to post a screen shot for the correct midi routing in AUM to achieve the same thing? I am either not getting the humanise effect at all or weird phased double hits.
