Also, it has been on sale a few times a year for around 50% off.
I think it will happen again eventually.
iPhone version of the OG app definitely needs an update, a UI overhaul (let us scroll all the windows up/down when extended keyboard is used, also deal with line at the bottom of the screen, etc).
@Ryan_IK
Yep. I bought the full package when it was 50%. I just wonder how this thing is going to be maintained moving forward since they are 2 Apps containing the exact same synths. At some point those of us who purchased the full suite of synths may be SOL...and that's why I am asking my questions...
Maintaining 2 code bases for an app who's only difference is Price is not going to be sustainable. The Tipping point will be reached at some point where Syntronik CS will only be receiving new synth updates...I just want to know what the plan is for when this happens, and I want to also speak up now since a lot of us already invested in the full set of synths...and would love to see it continue to develop and receive updates.
Having some clarity around this would be nice as well is all I'm saying.
Thanks!
I, too, think Syntronik a good value on sale at $50 for all the synths. I use it quite a bit with satisfaction.
We did this mainly to give users the option and see how it went. Don't worry, no one will lose gear. Here's a snippet from the news to answer some questions I see here.
Check out the news on the topic here for details.
For anyone confused on Syntronik and Syntronik CS. One is a free version with a limited sound set. This helps users expand as they'd like. The Syntronik paid version is for users who know that they want to jump right in with more sounds. Syntronik Deluxe is an expansion of synthesizers for Syntronik and Syntronik CS. On iOS this is offered as an IAP.
Full details on Syntronik iOS here.
Dear @Ryan_IK,
I have question about number of presets in Syntronik Deluxe.
The Deluxe version for iOS has about 1600 presets. The Deluxe version for Desktop has about 2600 presets. Do you consider / is there any chance in the future to add the remaining 1000 presets (including needed samples for that purpose) from the Dektop to iOS version in the next iOS updates?
Both versions Desktop and iOS have the same number of instruments, features, effects, etc. Only sample size is lower (80 GB vs 6,5 GB) and probably number of samples because of presets amount difference. It would be wonderful to use all presets from the Desktop on the iOS platform. Is there something preventing from adding these already created 1000 presets to the iOS version?
Thank you in advance for advice.
Would also love the option to get the desktop samples. With newer bigger iPad storage it’s not a problem anymore.
Hi @Jusch1995,
This is also an nice option. Midiculous has the "FM Tines" as standalone app which is 280 MB and also "FM Tines" as IAP which is 19 GB size (desktop class samples) to "Pure Synth Platinum" app. (Midiculous also allow to keep downloaded samples on external SSD as option for iPad with no free space)
Thank you for your input
But my intention is to increase the number of presets 1600 -> 2600 with the same iOS quality of samples for Deluxe upgrade owners, so the iOS app could be icreased from current 6,5 GB to eg. 10,5 GB - as free update. Desktop class samples could be realized as eg. separate paid IAP.
I would really like to know if there is an audible difference between desktop and iOS. I mean it have to be, because it’s only 10 percent of the size. I did not find anything about comparing it unfortunately... I hope someone who has both versions could make a comparison. This would be really helpful.
That would be great!
Dear @ikmultimedia
Can we ask for a comment on this topic?
I would be grateful for your reply. Thank you in advance.
From my point of view I am completely satisfied with the quality of the samples prepared for iOS (not desktop class) in Syntronik. I don't think my deaf ears are spotting these subtle quality differences anymore. It is such an additional question because of @Jusch1995 who has better hearing than me
and I understand it might be useful.
I care more about more presets. In this case presets are already created on desktop version and just have to be duplicated in the iOS version. I realize it takes additional work too, but it's not a new content, it already exists, so I hope the @ikmultimedia will consider that request.
To clarify I did not hear it by myself. I just did the assumption because it has to be when the sample size is only 10 percent. But I spoke to some people who have both and almost everyone says there is basically no hearable difference In quality. Do it might be really really good compression and we don’t need it.
I mean the sound coming out of this app is increably rich, it was just my purist self who wanted the best possible sound
I also think the other 1000 presets are more important.
I would assume that one of the reasons that desktop libraries are so big is that people expect them to be. It's more what you said, if the the size is only 10% there HAS to be a difference, right? I might not be able to hear it but there HAS to be a difference. So companies say "well fuck it, we just don't compress it much and then they will be happy".
Overall they probably stripped away stuff that people are unlikely to notice much. Like a few extra round robins or a velocity layer.
That was exactly my thought - big numbers look more impressive on the promo material for desktop users so why not just give them the uncompressed version
what is the difference between desktop and ios version in GBs?
Wow, thanks. Official support of IKmultimedia wrote to me that ios version is 711MB. Great support @IK_Multimedia
To be fair it is 711 without any of the IAPs
the question was clear - Deluxe version with all ipadOS IAPs
Ok then it’s not good 😂
My opinion is that people working there are specialists in programming, marketing, but customer service is... less important for them
On the last sale I bought "Deluxe" IAP in Syntronik CS. I was charged for Deluxe but only the "Full" version was unlocked. At the same time the "Deluxe upgrade" IAP appeared. I bought "Full Upgrade" for test with the idea it might recognize that I had already paid for "Deluxe", but it didn't and appstore took another 20$ from my account (it was already after the sale). Has it happened to someone that after purchasing IAP x, IAP y has unlocked instead, in any iOS app? That was first time for me.
Regarding the IK custom care from my experience I have to say that the contact is good, in the sense of a quick reply, I exchanged 4 emails, but on the other hand the replies were often more general than focused on my specific problem.
how it is about deluxe? how much space do I need?
Just checked, the 'CS Deluxe' version with all synths downloaded (running it as 'trial' atm) clocks in at 6,47 GB on my iPad: 6,37 GB for the 'patches' and 101,5 MB for the app itself.
