To be honest, I don't know what the best way is for users to contact Apple. Maybe via iTunes support?
@jsb: Thx for show me this...mmhhh yeah, apple get us here... me in the night like attack of the body snatchers So then you're right and we all agree to such a "feature". Next time i really should read the small print before an update. I think there are still some threads on the apple forums and perhaps they will remove this feature if people are loud enough (don't think so). Let's get back to make music
I've still received no update download on my iPad, and no space had been taken up. I'm using an iPad 2. Is it possible that only newer systems are getting the forced push right now?
Nope, I have the download on my iPad 2
@audiojunkie: Do you have sufficient free space to accommodate the download?
@Galaxyexplorer... lol - "Attack of the Body Snatchers"
I have 3.9Gb on my tablet, which is supposed to be plenty. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anxious to make the change, I just found it strange that I didn't get the push. :-)
@jsb yes, you can disable it for windows. my point was 'by default' it's on - it's a pretty standard modern OS feature. Windows uses BITs to grab updates automatically in the background so that when they are presented to the user, they install quickly.
Don't misunderstand me though - I think apple should seriously rethink this, particularly if storing the update is going to use more than N% of remaining free space (say 70%). But, for most users (which we're not) updating to the newest OS asap is a good thing. Hard to imagine they'll change it for us.
http://www.apple.com/support/contact/ should do the trick. Lots of hoops though.
OK, this has finally happened on my iPad 4. Until now it was awaiting download and install, now it just says install...
...it's sitting there like an ugly toad that has gobbled up 3.3 GB of space into it's bulging cheeks, just waiting for me to mistakenly install so that it can finally swallow it down and burp loudly "fuck you, you iOS 6 lover!"
You won't be upgrading Garageband until it does, either.
ok - If you have IPhone 4 or 4S - DO NOT UPDATE iOS7!!!!!!!!! It will be eating your battery (and nerves) to the point that you will buy a new phone. First of all - iPhone 4S is fast enough to handle it all (and smaller too!) plus the iOS6 (S.JOBS legacy should live on) is superior in all the aspects. I did the mistake and i did update to iOS7 (not knowing you can't roll back!!) - i did a comparison and was forced to buy another iPhone 4S with old iOX6 (but this time i got 64 GB instead of 16, which you can get a great deal on it now!)… hope Apple people will wake up and stop being so obnoxious.
@odalv Not sure what you're talking about, I updated my 4s to iOS7 and the battery is lasting just as long as it did in iOS6 once you go into Settings and turn off several things that Apple has decided to turn on in the background as of iOS 7.
Google it, there are many articles on the web about turning off certain Settings in iOS 7 to save battery.
