Nope. I’m empathetic and genuinely wanted to try and help others who might be suffering from negative thought patterns as I have in the past. I’ve found changing your perspective toward the positive and recognizing destructive habits to break out of can make living so much more pleasant.

Do you think it's empathic to suggest some members 'pollute the waters'? And that they are 'damaging to those around you, infected with your spewing vitriol'?

That sounds more like arguement-starting talk to me.

Are we really down to complaining about complaining? Really?

That's what the original post seems to be about. A rant about people who rant, a complaint about complainers. A whinge against the whingers.

Not really. It was about how complaining is detrimental to a healthy mind and also for those around

You've twisted this thing into something it wasn't intended to be. The OP pled guilty to thinking too negatively many times and included considerations to his wife for putting up with such thinking. If you found the quotes of his that you used above to be inciteful, then consider that maybe he is not yet adept at the thinking positively thing. His intention in trying seems sincere.

    Let it go.

Hey Monzo, what happened to you man? I remember you used to be one of the users here who were more joyful and excited about all this iOS sound stuff. Something happened along the way. You'e certainly not the worst offender, but somewhere around the time that another user, I think it was either Nathan or Nkersov got you all riled up in arguments about Brexit as I recall. Seems like you've been kind of seething ever since.

The original post was about constant complaining being bad for your health and those around you. I know this to be true, because I've noticed it in my own behavior patterns. I've recognized it and trying to break the habit of negativity.

Actually you're likely a good example of how an otherwise joyful human being, has seemingly got caught up in likely another user's patterns of negative thought and constant complaining.

This isn't a "complaint" about you, or anyone else. It's about observing how certain kinds of patterns devolve and not only make someone generally angry all the time, but also infect other users like yourself, who previously had a generally pleasant disposition.

Not calling you or anyone else out. Just sharing a realization about how many of us can be susceptible to getting caught up in a quagmire of dark thought. I've been there myself, and am making earnest effort to stay out of those fruitless waters.

I've enjoyed many of our interactions in the past and I dig your enthusiasm for experimental sound. I genuinely wish you well and hope you and others here, who appear to be having a hard time breaking free from all of the aggravating nuisances in life, find their way back to at least some of the time appreciating the joy that can be had too.

Best of luck! I just lost the game of HORSE to my wife and she'll keep the title Master of the Universe this week. But, I'm not gonna let it get me down. Ain't nobody got time for that. ;)

    I'm out of this one.

    I'm out of this one.

I'm sorry you feel that way. Was hoping to help others out of the destructive thought patterns I've been a victim of myself.

On a side note, I was thinking about you while watching discchord's Synthscaper demo. I know you're trying to curb your app purchases for now (aren't we all) but of the 3 you've said are at the top of your list... I bet you'd really dig Synthscaper the most. The learning curve is slightly steep, but not too bad once you get the hang of Igor's logic. It's great for creating your own traditional sounding synths, beautiful pads, or downright insane sound design. I can see Synthscaper being an excellent tool for soundtrack effects design too.

And, if you haven't already... download the new TagTool animation app. It's free with a "Pro" upgrade. I bought the upgrade, but you can do 85% of what the app does with just the free one. The drawing is primitive, but the tools are so fluid and fun to animate with. You can't save your animations yet, as it's designed as a performance stage tool, but you can get around that by using the new iOS 11 screen recording. And, I'm told recording within the app is coming. Highly recommended for putting a smile on your face. And it's free. :)
