@wim yes, I guess 4.4 is still OK. I'm a "justice warrior" though. If an app is truly useless to someone because it crashes all the time, or if its description is inaccurate or even misleading, then sure, 1-star all the way!
But one should see it in perspective. One of the one-starrers also left a one-star review on Modstep because "the metronome is too loud"
(true story)
Will the app be able to import midi from Dropbox in future?
Currently, direct support for each cloud provider is not planned... however, you can copy the MIDI files from Dropbox to Xequence using the iOS Files app.
is it me or... Can't Xequence import chords?
Tried importing an Odesi generated midi file.. It's usually a 3 track/channel file (Bass Drum and Chords) but the chord track only imports 'one note' of the triad chord.... Maybe it's me.
@RajahP Xequence can of course import chords
but there may be something peculiar about your MIDI file. Care to send it to me so I can investigate and fix? Thanks!
Sent.. PM..
@SevenSystems I get same results with midi from Odesi. It opens ok in Cubasis, but not Xequence.
@Chaztrip @tja @RajahP will investigate those MIDI files, thanks!
@tja you're not supposed to be able to read them. They're DISABLED
@SevenSystems any luck on those midi weird import? Also I’m not rushing you, I’m just curious. Now on the Audiobus deal.... let’s get moving. 😁😂😬🤪
@Chaztrip it is fixed in the current development version and more compatible than ever, but sorry to say you'll have to wait till the Audiobus update hits.
Until then, if anyone has a MIDI file that they need urgently imported, just send me a PM and I'll import it and send back the Xequence project file.
No problem! Thanks for all your hard work. 👊😁
Great customer service!
@gusgranite thanks! The ultimate goal still is 100% bugfreeness though, so that there's no need for customer service in the first place
Everyone: I've just managed to squeeze in a minor update to fix the MIDI import problems (hopefully for good this time!). Version 1.7.6 has just been approved by Apple and should be available.
How do I import midi files? I can find export midi files but not import.
Just put the midi file into the Xequence folder, then open the midi file like you would a project.
To get the midi into an existing project, select the clips you want, copy to clipboard, open the other project (no need to save the midi file), and then paste where you need it.
I import my midi files into the Xequence folder in the Files app. Usually from AudioShare or other apps that can send the midi files into the files app.
You then load up the file like a project and Xequence will give you some options to import with program changes etc.
This process loads a new project though. You cannot currently load a midi file into a project although you can copy/paste midi data between projects.
@SpookyZoo @wim perfect thank you 🙏
@[Deleted User] just saw you are sorted already
thanks @wim @SpookyZoo.
Directly importing MIDI file data into the open project is on the mid- to short-term roadmap.
No problem as the existing method works perfectly fine 🙂
