Those dices actually makes good sounding presets! Really fun stuff. Sounds great, and versatile in what kind of sounds you can make out of the factory content. Well worth 10 bucks, also well worth its regular price at 20 bucks.

It has a good randomization engine, several of the sounds I got were useable from the get go and offered a broad range of sounds to noise-ish to more melody type sounds. I will note this was without headphones until I get home later but sounds good and definitely a good idea
How long is the intro sale?
I can't find any iDevice section on their site, but looks like Cube Synth is the iPad version of their Cube VST/AU (parts of it at least) http://www.virsyn.de/en/E_Products/E_CUBE/e_cube.html ?
The vst version came out in about 2003. I remember reading reviews in CM and FM. It is a nice synth but I'm going to pass on this. In the past two weeks I've bought Modular, Audulus and TC-11 (and VocaLive). Addictive sits in my "Almost" folder on my iPad. It is the home for apps that seem nice, but just don't get me excited. I need to learn how to get the most out of what I have before I can rationalize getting Cube.
Bought I couldn't resist it and it sounds great.The morphing line reminds me of Animoogs many morphine lines.
I love randomize features in apps when the dreaded writer's (sound designer's) block hits. I just wish there were more videos/sound examples available.

I'm glad to see additive synthesis still alive in iOS muisc. As an old lover of the Kawai K series (I had three K5000Ws, one is still here, and one K5000S), I miss an additive synth in hardware these days.
It sounds good... 4 additive sources with multi-point envelopes, similar to the ones in Absynth.
Is it possible to hold notes with some switch? Like if you wanted to use this in the background while operating some effect app in real time?

wow,the addictive synth is my most favorite (iOS) Synth so i definitely support this one.By the way,IAA support is just a matter of time,i had a mail conversation with the developer regarding IAA in all his products...i really had to learn how i use addictive in the best possible way but onece you get behind the mechanics...its awesome.It surprises me way more often with crazy and usable results than any other synth.
I'm really liking this. Can get some really great sounds especially when you start messing with the pitch & spread of A, B, C, and D and then mess with the lines in the center. The lines do remind me of Animoog but they are a little different. It gets pretty deep when you get into the attack, panning, etc etc of ABCD. Again the randomization is great and puts out some nice starter patches to tweak. One note to everyone is, whatever page your on, when you hit help (especially when editing ABCD internal parameters) some of the boxes say "tap for more info" and it brings up a great description of everything. I'm never noticed that on there other apps, meaning the tap for more info thing.
And I haven't even left the first page. The second page is got some great envelope stuff too, don't forget to tap tools in the top right and it has some presets for morphing all ABCD, just one and etc. Also I noticed under help on the FX page for Reverb they said its a stripped down version of their hi-end reverb REFLECT and there's a FIX button which sets the reverb to the same for all patches versus unique to each one.
I love tweaking and patch building when I have time but I'm love being able to "Roll The Dice" a few time (randomization) and usually within 5 taps I've got a decent starter I can easily build on to myself and tweak from there

yes it's an older design of synth, but I liked the VSTi demo right from the start when I began dabbling with software in 2003. And when I read "Cube app" it ringed a bell and I immediately thought it would be great to have it on the iPad. And after just a short play and edit without calling presets, it is (for me).
Thanks to JMSexton for the hint about the help feature. It sure will be valuable when I get deeper into the synth engine.
I think it's exciting. Do you guys know what you had to pay for additive synthesis like this in the 80's? You had to spend a fortune. Now it's there for 10 bucks only, on a touchscreen tablet. And there's also the Addictive app ...
This kind of synthesis goes very well on touchscreens I think. I remember there was a huge synth in the mid 80's with lots of LED's, with - I guess - touch interaction.

Yea the onscreen help is really useful. It might be hard to miss small things like doing a small swipe under the morphing XY lines will switch it between the lines and a regular user controllable XY pad, I'd probably never seen that part had I not used the help screens lol
Some One know how I can add points on center cube...I add 1 or 2 but I don't the Logic, sometime yes I can but other 100 Times No!
@Sinapsya Under the envelope section you can add dots/points to the various envelopes (the tiny "insert/delete" button up to the right in the env window). That will also add the points to the morphing cube.
I think they need to take a look at the randomisation algorithm. If I randomise a preset a couple of times, close the synth, relaunch and randomise the same preset I seem to get exactly the same results. Which turned out to be useful to me (I wanted to get back to a sound I had stumbled across earlier) but might make the randomisation function get tired quickly.

@bennorland Interesting, I tried it on the first preset (the cello one) and it does the same variations again like you said, at least on the first 5 or so randomizations. But I went nuts clicking on the random button and it never seemed to recycle back to old variations, like it would if going through a list of of pre-set parameters. Would be fun to know how exactly it works.
They will have to seed the randomizer with an ever-changing number, such as the current date/time. Looks like they haven't done that, causing the randomizer to regenerate the same sequence all over again every time the app is started.
If I'm not mistaken, Nave, this and Addictive use the same type of synthesis. Which one does it make most sense to get, if any. I was thinking of having one good synth for each type, and I already have Animoog.
from the sound, the result itself, you are right. These synths can create similar sounds. From a theoretical standpoint however they use a different kind of synthesis. Nave and Animoog are so-called wavetable synths (and of course also Wolfgang Palm's apps Wavemapper and Wavegenerator. He is the inventor of this kind of synthesis), while additive synthesis applies to Addictive and Cube.
Theoretically, with additive synthesis you can create any kind of sound, be it subtractive (what traditional synths use), wavetable-based synths, depending on the modulation matrix also frequency modulation (FM, like the famous DX7), and natural sounds. Because, as we all remember, every audible sound (and even inaudible sounds) consist of an addition of sine waves. It's just a question of how many sine oscillators you have how realistic the result will be.
@synthandson - I think Addictive Synth is using wavetables to accomplish additive synthesis. It saves cpu.
regarding Addictive, I don't think so. You can draw partials, which is a clear sign of additive synthesis. Hence the name. But I surely don't want to go into an academic discussion here. Theoretically, wavetables could be used, but it would need countless wavetables - which would be the same as using partials.
But I'm not a programmer, i don't really know how the programmers accomplish their goals.
