  • You said it!

  • I agree with K-Evo 1: more brass! One of my vices from the MIDI cover tune days was Oingo Boingo, and you can't cover them adequately without (Music Studio is the only app that I have that has anything useful for horns). While we're on the subject, I'd like to see a GB-styled app that uses band instruments to compose/arrange for marching bands (or orchestra)... did a bit of that back in the day. Also: tambourines, harmonica, steel drums...

  • Soundfont Pro and bs-16i give you a lot of options there.

I'd like something like Toontrack's EZ Drummer. Good sounding, adjustable drumset with tons of loops.

I could go for something like that also. That would be boss!
There really is nothing like that to be found so far. I have searched all the drum apps I can find to no avail.

I would love a stand alone multi-sampler like NN-XT in Reason!

    I really WANT this!

    PLEASE

Beatmaker 2 has a full featured sampler like the one you're talking about.

  • Ah sorry, missed the 'stand alone' bit

  • And sorry again I missed the bit where you're totally not interested in beatmaker 2. Is it that bad?

  • It's really not bad, it's just that it comes with a sequencer, drum machine, and 800+ MB of bloat. ;-)

iOS EZ Drummer? That's an instant purchase for me if that's what's coming down the pike.

  • I'm not missing anything. I have an acoustic drum kit in the loft, bass guitars, acoustic steel string, nylon string. 2 djembes, darbouka, doumbek, cajon, electric hollow body, an epiphone les Paul, strat copy, selection of shakers, singing bowl, melodica, concert ukulele, didgeridoo and my own voice. Ah I almost forgot Korg gadget on my ipad and the rest of them ios synths. Bliss!

  • Track using DrumPerfect and a kit made from Derek Buddemeyer's free Studio Pop kit. All variation in the drum part other than the couple of drops was generated on the fly by DrumPerfect from ONE single bar 4/4 pattern.

  • Very interesting thread. I would agree with the suggestion of a high quality drum kit with ltd number of sounds multiple layered. I would personally love something similar but for a blues guitar - with multiple layers of samples. I would see it focusing on the neck as a UI but paired with a piano roll editor where you could edit but also add in articulations like scrapes and legato and other characteristics. Kind of like GarageBand guitar but just one instrument and much deeper sampled with more light and shade.

  • I can't wait for Drumperfect. That app looks do promising.

  • That's an awesome track Paul!

  • Propellerhead's NN-XT could follow its fellow Thor and join us to solve our sampler problem :)
