It should sort by date by default. I can hide the selector too but I like the idea of being able to see popular posts in a thread.

Hmm. This is working correctly for me, and I don’t see anything to indicate the new plugin is responsible for changing this behaviour by default. Did you perhaps select the sort by popularity option?

Sorry for the delayed reply. Perhaps it’s just my setup. Ipad Air2/IOS 11.1.1/Safari.
As you can see there is no count of comments for each thread. Only the view count.
And the little star to the right, which I used to press to bookmark threads are also disappeared.

Thanks for the suggestion, @syrupcore . Signing out and in did not help, but clearing the cache did bring back the comments count

Glad it worked. I don't recall the stars on the main listing (not seeing them now either). You can still bookmark by entering the thread. Star thingy is at the very top.

Yes, we can pick by date, but why encourage the disregard of the smaller voices and our own ability to judge what is relevant. I respect you a lot @michael. Just wonder why you think this is necessary? Is it Audiobus' Got Talent? Or are we a beacon of equality and fair play for all. Sorry for the hyperbole, but I love this forum and the freedom it offers all of us to choose. I guess that must include a rating system since so many want that sort of thing, or do they?

I added the feature because the forum was going through a dark time at the time with a lot of conflict, and I wanted to find a way to inject some positivity. I don't see anything that prevents you from using your own judgement on the forum.
Hi @michael. I've just been blowing hot for a few days. Got into a row with IK too! But I don't mean to present my thoughts in a mean spirited way, just as you say, a strong feeling about it. It's like all of a sudden (over the last ten years... For a septuagenarian that's a sudden) everybody is taking pictures of everything! Their donuts and coffee, their cash machine receipts, their new toothbrush. Where did all this minutiae come from? I think the same place the voting obsession comes from. I was part of the "Me" generation (I think). Now it's the "Everything About Me Matters" mindset.
I mean, I don't really give a lot of weight anymore even to what I think! Even about this subject! Why is everyone so enamoured with a thumbs up or down mentality? Do they have to have continual reassurance that what they think and do counts? Maybe the impotence we often feel about changing the big things in our lives is assuaged by being duped into thinking that if we vote from our easychair on this and that we are effective and powerful people. And are we as eager to go and vote in elections or town meetings? I don't think so. Perhaps there is a little endorphin squirt every time we decide this over that, that over this, and hey, five thousand others agree with me! I'm right!
If each person had to justify their vote that's a different matter.. Maybe it's just my perception of the superficiality of today's world. A world where film edits get faster and faster and music for the masses gets less melodic, less complex and more redundant.
Anyway, we talk about everything on this wonderful forum. It's the only one I have ever participated in, and It's really, for me, about the fun of music making on iOS, the people who agree with me that it's great and the chance to mouth off!
