When the only sales that are of interest are IAPs
When you are happy that your partner puts the spending down to Alcohol/drugs/gambling instead.
You know you BOUGHT too many apps, when reading this thread, you realize many others have taken or are stil in the same tunnel that you have been for 2 years or so, from which you finally got out, looking at the app store update icon that are now in the 3 digits, and you don't even bother.
All that after doing what one described here:
On top of that, after upgrading to the latest iPad pro thinking it would make every app you bought work better together, which not really happened, at least not like one could expect.
After all that money and time spent, you haven't found what you are looking for: a straight fwd way to play, get out your artistic experimental expressive musical gut, free from (you finally realized) setups, connectivity problem, bugs, bugs, bugs, unstability generated by upgrade cycles etc...
SOOOooo, you look at how much money you spent in a solution that was supposed to be a bargain, or a bang for the bucks, and you tell yourself that you haven't made all those efforts to end up unsatisfied, sooo you allow yourself to go on the hardware way and spend at least as much on real drum machines, synths, sequencers, that are doing consistently (being designed for) what you've been looking for this whole time.
So your iPad has become a dust collector that you look at with a corner smile.
Or when you ask during foreplay: " how many inputs can you handle per channel?"
BANG!
falls to the ground.
It’s funny you should say this, as I’ve been thinking similar, until my brain reminds me of all the problems I had over the years with hardware! As much hardware these days is really hardware with a software heart, it’s easy to see why similarities still hold true.
I must have had software and hardware issues with nearly every piece of hardware I used to have in the ten years I owned it all. So while I agree that the software related problems in iOS never ending update land are problematic, I’ve not found hardware to be any different. Bugs in hardware, rarely gets fixed after a while and problems between units communicating are just as bad as iOS land.
I think it’s just part of the age. Most stuff is just not made to last, because everything is either built on the cheap, or built to be unserviceable.
I do worry about it less as I get older though lol.
You could also use the Ninox database app so you can search for typical features of the different apps. The Ninox app is free: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ninox-database-for-ipad/id838880711?mt=8
I can totally relate here. I've had my fair share of hardware headaches. A lot of hardware these days tends to be buggy or the build quality sucks. So I've kept all of that in mind in recent years and wait until a piece of hardware has been out long enough to read about online. One company that comes to mind is Akai. All the MPCs that have been made since Numark and InMusic took over have been complete nightmares. So I'm happy with my MPC2000 and my Roland JP-8080 that I bought earlier during the year. They're easy to repair in the rare case that I ever need to replace any parts, and they've always been very reliable for me. So I'm sticking with the tried and true.
I spent ridiculous amounts of money on hardware back in the 80s. Then sold it all and played nothing but nylon-string guitar for nearly a quarter century. If it weren't for inexpensive apps I would not now be enjoying electronic music at all. I am not going back to the hardware world.
Thanx for the tip, I’ll check it out!
Just what I need is another App to play around with
There is nothing I want in the sales except for £95 worth of IAPs if they are still on sale on Thursday!! If I had more storage space on my iPad, would be probably double that!!
lmao same here!
If itunes bug informing You about update from 4 months makes You happy because You can't remember if THE app already got AB3 support or it's new feature
I think I discovered that when I have money left on my iTunes account.

In those cases I get 'desperate'. what If an new 'uber amazing' app comes out and I can't buy it
I removed my credit-card info from the AppStore long time ago and resort to using 'Gift Cards'...
That is what I do.
That's what I mean, by have money on iTunes.
I do the $15-$30 at a time.
Bro I stil owe you for TwistedWave.
By far most important app I own.
Besides Loopersonic what other apps for QUICK combining 2 or more samples?
My go to is Twisted for individual and Loopersonic for multiple single sample to assemble loops.
You use the wave editor for MitoSynth company? What is their name anyway? Wow poor name recognition.
