@nick I just downloaded a midi piano piece so that it takes my naff playing out of the equation.

Now I can tell a difference between the two Colossus uprights we have. It’s not major, but definitely there, though not sure a bit of EQ couldn’t d9 the same lol.

I’m now convinced that the download of the Japanese Grand is faulty. It just sounds like someone sucked all the life out of it! 14 layers, me thinketh not! :p

I wrote them an e-mail about the Japanese Grand ...

I’ve had more of a play with the Japanese Grand. I’ve tried different midi controller apps. It seems like all the layers are crammed into very little of the midi range. So to get much out of it, you have to play hard pretty much all of the time.

It’s still not as loud as the others, but it’s perfectly reasonable, but only at really high velocities. So, it’s virtually unplayable as it is.

I’m just wondering why it sounded OK in the SoundTestRoom video?

I wonder if anyone else who had the app when it first came out can tell us if it’s changed?

My solution for now, is to either use Animoog as an app to play it (which doesn’t seem to bad as they have a longer throw than the keys of AUM, or if using a keyboard - change the sensitivity.

yeah, that might help, but something is not right with this one, crudebyte should investigate. also that noise on d6 to e6 , it is just too distracting to me, I think I'll try to get a refund

Yeah it’s not ideal and can understand you not being happy with it.

I went and bought the Historic S Grand too. It suffers a bit from the same problems as the Japanese Grand, but not quite as bad!

I simply can’t fit any more lol
