I wish the dev would implement a sample slicer, it's the only thing keeping sunvox from going from the bees knees to the bees knees on skis.

It's a 'tracker', learn to use the sample-offset command for your slicing needs ;)

been there done that, but it's much more than just a tracker, wouldn't hurt it to have a slicer. If we learn to stop saying no to slicers and just say yes like we do with mpe, they'll be allot more slicers on iOS :)

    @dvlmusic: hehe. ;)

Quick tutorial: 1) In Sunvox, double-click the module you want to use. 2) Set "MIDI IN" to "always". 3) select a channel. 4) in Xequence, add an instrument 5) select "SunVox" as the destination. 6) select the same channel. 7) Done.

If you want to control any of the module's parameters: 1) In Sunvox, double-click the slider of the parameter you want to control. 2) Tap on the button next to "MIDI IN", it will say "Waiting for MIDI evt". 3) in Xequence, go to the keyboard, activate the "CC" button and move the controller on the left. Done.

I picked up SunVox on sale but didn't know what to do with it. Back in High School my best friend and I used to make music with ProTracker on his Amiga 5000 so I'm VERY familiar with trackers.

That doesn't mean I like them.

So yeah, this it excellent. Xequence is incredible - here's hoping you're able to add AUv3 functionality to it (hint hint hint...)

I’m saying yes. (To beatslicer in Sunvox)
Ive been called a “yes” man, which I don’t really mind. If the choice is between that and being a “no person” as my wife calls them, I’ll err on the side of yes to most things.
There is a module in Solarlune’s SolarSynth download that is a useful step in the right direction

I have zero idea what’s happening under the hood of this Metamodule (saying that now, I’ll have to find out) but it is big fun with vocal samples (spoken or sung)

In the video he does mention the dev has a beatslicer in pipeline, and this recent update is a huge foundational one for the onboard sampler - so yes, says me anyways

  • oh wow, thanks for that info LW!!!! , Looking forward to this...sunslicer :)

Need some help getting the Solarlune files into Sunvox. I have the .7z files in Audioshare
What next? I converted them to a zip file but Sunvox is not an option for exporting into?
I successfully exported them into Phasemaker just to try it out

Once unzipped (AudioShare) I’ve used the Sunvox WiFi import to bring in files, it works on the same device the apps installed on, and can peek into AudioShare and import from there.

More often I use iMazing on laptop to import stuff into the device. This for bulk transfers. I have 10gb of samples, XI instruments and .ogg files in Sunvox.

The WiFi way, and “Open in” from AudioShare works on individual Sunvox file types, at least the .sunvox type, if not .sunsynth...but loading one by one will be tedious.

Thanks for the info, will try later tonight
10 gb of samples :o congrats!

  • I foolishly opted to update my iPad 3/iOS 7.1.2 SunVox and effectively killed it.

Sucks. You can go to Purchased (located under your profile icon, upper screen right) on AppStore and you’ll find Sunvox, when you tap to download you will be offered the option to download the latest version your device will handle.

  • Thanks for the suggestion @Littlewoodg. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your directions but I'm not being offered the latest version compatible with my device download option from the AppStore cloud.

Store might’ve changed this feature with all the other changes of late. That sucks. You’re in your Purchases, or regular AppStore listing for Sunvox? I think what I’m talking about you can only do this from the Sunvox listing in your purchased...

  • My iPad 3 App Store of IOS 7 doesn't have the features you described. On my other devices with iOS 11, yeah I see what you're referring to.

Weird man, I’m sorry. iPad 1, iOS 5x I’m able to get a copy. Maybe it’s because I bought it that many versions ago.

SolarSynths are imported secure into Sunvox. The Sunvox wifi wasn’t working, wouldn’t connect to the server. I just put the .7z file on my desktop, extracted the files and used iTunes file sharing, dropped the SolarSynths file into Sunvox and voila there it was when I opened the library to load something , very good
    Thanks again
I just checked out my Sunvox wifi transfer and it’s working now. I was using an older http: assuming it was the same. The http: it gave me this evening is almost the same except for one number and that did the trick. Opened up Audioshare and sent a sound wave to Sunvox, worked like a charm
    Lots of fun lol

  • The upgraded Sound Engine sounds lush with the SpectraVoice. I think modulating delay times etc.. seems to give more usable results.

  • Loving the midi in. I’d like more options on the drum kits...or be better able to tweak what’s available, but it’s still a wonderful thing. Here’s a half brained snippet of what I’ve done so far...
