No midi and not so simple interface...but Protein der Klang is fun in a similar trigger loops to bpm way.

  • Protein der Klang may be one of those apps that has a lot of potential and eventually gets all the goodies through updates.

  • Just watched some videos for Protein der Klang. Looks like it has a lot of potential and looks to be almost exactly what I am looking for.

    Is anybody using it?

  • What about Werkbench? I can't say I know much about it, but I thought I'd at least mention it...

  • Yes I have protein der klang but do not use it currently. If it ever gets the ability to sample my stuff through audiobus it will be an excellent tool to have.

  • I have had protein for some time now and just can't figure out why they do not update it to be usable. No updates since I purchased it at all. It appears abandoned.

  • Ok, what is up , I just went to the protein der klang page and it says audiobus compatible. Why is that update no showing up on my ipad. I am going to go check again.

  • Darn they did update but input slot only! Still no sampling to output.

  • The update today Sayes it now has ACP do you need to buy the IAP to get it ? Anyone

  • @Jumpercollins yes you do have to get the IAP in order to get Audiocopy in Launchpad, but it worx.
But this app still needs AB&midi in order to be really useful.

  • Hey, it's there :)

  • I don't understand what they added...

Hasn't AB input been there since... at least February 7th according to Tritonman's post above?

  • I think he is talking about a completely different app- Protein de klang....

ah, I think you are right, Zymos.

Still, I thought Launchpad always had AB input... along with Launchkey from several months ago. I guess I was wrong... I certainly hadn't ever tried it.

And while "they still don't get it" for Audiobus, every time I open up Launchpad for a play I am reminded that they do "get it" on filling the soundstage, or whatever you call it. No clipping, the loops sound great together and individually, etc.

  • I can't see the average iOS-using schmo out there really having the motivation to use most of the apps that the members of this forum will use for the reasons that we use them. In other words: forget them! Let them use Pug Synth and BadLion or create your own base-use synth apps for them.

There are some serious musos here that know what all this stuff is about and how to get the most out of it. Shouldn't THAT be the base line for bothering to flesh out your apps with all these capabilities? And what about the other serious users out there who aren't on this forum?

    Pug Synth + AB...
    I didn't know it.

If I read your comment correctly, no it doesn't have AB - I was trying to point out that the unwashed masses (for the most part, IMHO) don't need it or won't utilize AB to the full potential I'm guessing (hoping?) Sebastian & Michael have in mind, ideally. Let the unwashed eat cake while we have steak... ;-)

  • Ha, ha, yes I know it's no AB, and, yes, I understood your point.
I wish those other serious users register soon.

  • How many of us are on this forum at the present time?

  • how simple /easy is it to use audio copy paste in the launchpad app and how easy is it to get the samples to play in sync, ?

  • @kobamoto. Hi,

Is really simple to do that, im a user of Launchpad and i like it a lot, if you want the exact steps or a video ( i dont know if you are the user that saw my videos of Electrify NXT) just let me know

  • As an incomplete alternative there is also LP-5 (Baseline and Modrum) For $8 you get clip launching of various lengths, assignable BPM with real-time audio stretching, MIDI, audio import via pasteboard, open-in and iTunes.

However, NO friggin Audiobus in either in IN or the OUT. It makes it really hard to mix into other apps or compositions. Maybe we could prod the Dev to include it.

  • I'm personally stoked to see this hit the Bus, even if it's just in the input slot. For me, this offers a solution for performing your already made loops while having access to an "FX Send" for everything. It'd be great to see multi out support down the line!

  • Hey Aphex yep that's me, I really appreciate your videos would be great to see one on the launchpad,

  • I'd be interested in checking out your Electrify NXT vids. Can you link to your YouTube channel, Aphex?

I'm not sure I get the appeal of constructing a tune using other people's loops, but I can't deny that the drums have a pop that mine never manage. What sort of stuff are the loop makers doing to them to make them sound so... I dunno... 'Pro'?

  • I just purchased the audio import feature. It works great with audiocopy even without the audiocopy app. I think I'll be using this a lot from now on.

  • @Michael_R_Grant you can find me as soundboyfl fl. And you will see the 3 short vids.

@kobamoto. I will upload the vid tonight

  • @kobamoto
Done, now you can see the video

  • If launchpad and loopy had a baby that would be awesome. Then I could take record loops directly into each pad using audiobus, have midi bindings, a integrated midi controller to trigger loops and effects.

What effects app would let you do the same effects as launchpad?

Maybe have loopy add more loops say as many as launchpad has. I would buy an IAP for more loops.

I once tried to convince Michael over email of how close he actually was to creating something like Abelton's clip launcher for iOS. He seemed kind of interested in exploring it but then he thought up a way to move audio in between apps and got a little distracted. :)
