Egoist Updated to 1.5.4! Now works great on 12.9 iPad Pro!
Just downloaded todays update and am thrilled to report that there is no more sluggish interface on iPad Pro. Fingers crossed for Unique to get the same treatment.

wow!!
Same here finally working great on my iPad Pro 9.8
any new features or added slicing tracks?
Don’t think so .. Update description just said “Performance Improvements” .. Haven’t noticed any other changes.
It’s indeed an appreciated development. Hopefully this means they’ve figured out the solution to the performance
issues with their other apps. They’re one of my favorite pro-audio devs & I’m looking forward to moving their entire app lineup from my air 2 to my Pro;
A happy bunny.
I just bought EGOIST, dunno exactly what it is, but it was a bargain
Is it any good? I have Samplr & Reslice also... which is best?
Obviously Samplr!
They are quite different. Egoist is a groovebox with a slicer built in. I never got anything amazing with reslice but that's probably just me.
Yeah! Fixed for me too (iPad Pro 9.7, latest iOS).
I love Samplr, but usually use it on its own.
I never got on with ReSlice for reasons I can’t really articulate.
Egoist fits right in to my “record a synth/drum loop - feed it through Egoist (add effects/drums/bass line) until something amazing comes out - move it over to Blocs Wave” workflow.
No update here yet, but I've got about 40 notifications for apps that haven't been updated.
Ok, thanx guys. I like Samplr too.
There is a new feature, in each section, slicer, beats and bass, and effects, the sequencer time now has dividers t/1, t/2, t/3, t/4 . Each section can have a different time divider
If you pull down on the update screen, it’ll force it to check for new updates. I do it all the time, as it usually comes up with a few that would otherwise take quite a while for the automatic refresh to show. Just now found an update for AUM that didn’t show up automagically.
Yeah tried that, still nothing.
The new App Store is shit, basically.
Those features arrived with v. 1.5
thanks dudes and dudettes
But I had no idea either way. That is a sweet addition.
There’s a great tutorial here
Yep! But it leads directly to the dream of running 2 or 3 slicers simultaneously (a la samplr) to build a track. T/1 for a funky rhythm track, t/4 for a chord pattern...
The monophonic vs polyphonic option is a nice relatively new option too.
It has! And it works on my iPad Pro 9.7
hows the export on the app currently, are you able to export seamless loops?
Woa. Good stuff! I missed the new triggers on the effects page's filter too.
@syrupcore Every time (not often enough) I open this app and spend more than half an hour playing with it I get the almost awful feeling in the back of my lizard mind that this is my true desert island app. It's all here, down to the proper pattern/song mode that gives you no excuse for staying within the comfort of the 'perfect' 16 bar loop.
I'm not even talking about using the bass and drum aspects, just importing your own samples, making the best HAM* sandwiches ever, and then exporting the mix for adornment elsewhere.
Seems smoother than before and the reason it's an almost awful feeling -and why I have always gone off elsewhere, whistling past the graveyard, nothing to see here- is that in this thing (for me) there's no excuse: Do the work and you will be rewarded. But, aye, there's the rub Malvolio....
*Happy Accident Machine
Would Bebot ever make it to shore on your island?
I've just realized in the last couple months that Egoist is my "if you could only use one app" solution. BM3 is more flexible and deep, but everything takes me longer in terms of WRITING. Egoist gets something good and unique going so fast and easy that I pay closer attention to the key elements of composition (melody, lyrics, etc). I have even started to appreciate the bass and drums modules--and the effects are amazing! I really COULD do it all here.
....watches video, and goes off to play with Egoist...
I downloaded the free demo for the PC and I'm really digging it. This might be a buy. Can't decide on this versus Reslice. This seems better from the videos. I don't need the drum stuff in Egoist.
I had Egoist on my iPad for a long time before I “got it” (I think after watching a YouTube tutorial). Now it’s a firm part of my workflow. I’m far more productive because of it. Like @JohnnyGoodyear says, “it’s all here”. It’s probably my favourite app.
