    Well, he tried it... :)

  • Pretty sure that's from Live in Houston, which rules every single thing that could be ruled!

  • People seem happy with the Samsun Graphite, both the 25 and 49 keys can draw power from your iPad. Might be worth checking out. It definitely looks good, sliders, knobs and pads on top of everything else, so it covers most controller aspects.

I fried my 61 key controller a year or so ago. Cheap one, but had sliders and knobs etc. Anyway, was looking for a mobile ~3 octave mini keys keyboard the other day, was determined to get Korgs mini keys. But, the store had a sale on the iAd Keys by IKmultimedia, so I ended up ordering that one. Should arrive Wednesday. I have no doubt that the Korg mini is of much higher build quality, and would most likely last much longer, but at this price point I just ordered the other one (and it's just for a simple mobile setup anyways).

  • The other half of the world dont use PIANO keyboards. Many use Diatonic boxes, guitars etc.
Yet. no midi DISPLAY or virtual keyboards for such instruments!!

  • It might be worth looking at these two, both have full size keys:
    http://uk.m-audio.com/products/view/oxygen-iv-49 and http://www.nektartech.com/Impact-LX49
Both are new products and can be powered by the camera connection kit. Available for £99 or less. I've gone for the M-Audio Oxygen because I've been happy with their products in the past but I was tempted by the Nektar too. I'm waiting for delivery as I write. Best of luck!

  • @ChrisG iAd keys- either the funniest autocorrect in a while or I give you a standing ovation for your sarcastic wit! I have that keyboard, it's served me well. I broke one key a few years ago because I was putting it in my bass gig bag constantly and caught a key, so I was able to take it apart and fix it. It's served me very well ever since. Not the greatest action, but since I can barely play keys, it works well for me. A few fantastic keyboardists I know tried mine and they all dug it.

  • I thought I'd give a quick update on the M-Audio oxygen 49 2014. Really impressed with the quality of it for such a cheap keyboard. The keyboard action is very playable and very responsive. It works fine with a £3, alternative to Apple, camera connection kit and the drain on the ipad battery is remarkably small. All in all a bit of a bargain.

  • Is anyone using a Nektar 25 w/iPad? Does it work via the camera USB <-> lightning connector cable? (I am still shopping around for a new kbd .. even though I got my old one working -- I need something slightly portable and it would be nice to not have to lug around a wall wart which is what the old midi kbd requires)

  • I love my Samson carbon 49 but no bells and whistles like the graphite 49 but they both need no power other than the iPad and the price is really great for them both.
