I’ll admit, it’s been a while since I bought a non-AU effect app, but it’s not a deal breaker for me, perhaps because I remember the pre-AudioBus days with my iPad 2.
I think the real question is can this app do something that DFX can’t.
Also, I think we can all agree that this forum has transcended AudioBus. It’s the most active iOS musician community.
DFX has a major flaw : no bpm sync .
DFX does have bpm - and the automation can be synced to it.
No AU? No problem. Keep em coming devs, I'll buy them. I came here to get away from desktop like workflows.
Any idea when this might drop? Trying to time it to coincide with my greatest block of free time.....
Good question- having some sort of idea would be fine. Christmas is coming.
Great remark! +100

The latest beta is "the very last test version, after the very last test version"
This looks awesome!
Why isn’t this usable from inside Gadget?
It doesn't sync to midi clock or Link.
Or I am missing something ?
Be interesting to see how they price this one, since Elastic Drums is only £8.99, and includes the effects unit as well as all the drums, synths and sequencer....
Website says $6.99.

Ahaaaa.....that's me in then...
I’m the opposite of many here. No AU, so it’s not for me. I wish all devs the best with any project, but since the advent of AU full screen and AU Midi, I no longer see the desire to run much in the way of IAA with all its ghosting issues.
Korg apps, a few fx and midi apps are the last few still holding ground. As time goes by, I use them all less and less.
This would be fantastic as an AU of course. Right now I am on the beta just playing zeeon through EFX, recording the results on another bank in BM3... Fantastic.
Will I get my measly 10$ CAD worth out of this by building up my sample library over the next few months or years? Absolutely.
Have you bought it? Not here in the UK yet...
Is this available or are you beta-testing? Site says it’s available, but if it is, it’s not in the US store yet.
Reviewing now on Sonic Talk
Yarr, yes 'on the beta' (as mentioned in the quoted texts
)
Like I have time for those
Come on where is it
It has a bpm setting which allows you to sync to incoming beats- and the automation of the parameters can be set to match the bpm- this is all the syncing that I need. I am not even sure why you would want midi or link in DFX- as midi clock would be to the sender in the chain prior to DFX- as would Link?
I hope this will not have what DFX has which is digital clicks when using delay. Has anyone else noticed that. In general I’m not blown away by the quality unlike say, sugar bytes stuff.
Thought I noticed a couple of clicks in the video, difficult to tell without using it though.
Because of this thread I took elastic drums fx section for a good spin and I have to say I’m not 100% amazed. I will buy this for sure as I do with most of multieffects apps but whether I use it or not is another story.
I think effects app creation is an art a bit like amp simulation, you need to get THAT tone. It’s gotta be musical or maybe just I find warm and fuzzy phasers and bit crushers musical and someone else doesn’t. The point is that the tone is the THANG and some developers care more about getting the ingredients well connected as opposed to getting the right ingredients in, in the first place.
Horses for courses I suppose but it’s always good what one is after
I think a lot of that depends on whether or not you automate certain parameters.
I quite like the tone in the (only) vid, and I like the elasticdrums fx, so it’s on the cards for me. I’d like to see/hear a couple more vids first though so I’ll most likely wait for Doug’s.
I keep telling myself not to jump in and buy before reading feedback on here, so I’m going to try and hold on a bit this time.
I wanted to automatically sync DFX to clock or link for ,but it's not an option for now .
Where is that bpm setting that 'syncs to incoming beats' ?
