  • I have some 'overfill' in my iTunes account, are people still enthused by this now they have been using for a few days ?

Yeah. I've calmed down a bit now but it's become a kind of a 'go to' for me, and instead of going bonkers with pitch shifters I've been using it a bit more subtly.

Quality, very musical. If you're using Link, get it. I'm struggling to sync it to Loopy but apparently MIDI sync will come at some point. No regrets either way.

I try not to use link, like you preferring MIDI Clock but because I'm using external devices too, but sometimes link is forced :|

    Cheers peeps :)

  • I created another video with Elastic FX and Studiomux by my friends from Zerodebug, who just made an update of their great app.

  • Hey Elastic Drums! Nice job! An effects playground.

Would you please consider the possibilty to toggle on longer automation loops, and add to that the ability to record each of the four loops in a free looping mode, where each effect can have a different run time?

I'd like to have my effects evolve and morph and interact over time. Having long loops of automation never actually meet up again in the same way sounds dreamy.

Yeah, record for each channel is on my list already.

How much longer do you think of? I think it makes not much sense for anything much longer than 8 bars. The automation recording is with something "loopy" in mind, not to do automation for a full song. There you should rather use a Midi Controller and record the changes in your DAW

How about a setting of "Absurd?"

This would unlock twenty seconds of variable time for the effects to cycle through. Don't know how long 17, 18, 19 and 20 seconds of looped effect automation would take to repeat, but that is math for someone smart. I'm not using this with a DAW. It is a live beast.

Maybe your effect automation non-sequential looping changes the entire effects game? Nothing else like that on the market! I give away my best ideas for free!

  • To add: slow 20 second filter sweep intertwining with a 19 second distortion sweep... that's a lot of seconds of fun.

I use my rc 505 sometimes in non linear mode and let notes slip in and out of consciousness.

  • While we are here and I have your attention: Elastic Drums needs a "Delete All Sequencing/Automation" button. Love the sounds in many presets, but I want to quickly bang out a sequence of my own rather than flip off song mode, turn off any stored mutes, and then clear all the steps. Please?

  • Yeah I also think if you can have it record as long as possible, why not? I think this is better for more interesting repeats and experimentation :)

  • Thanks, Oli ( @elasticdrums )

    What's New in Version 1.0.2

    • New: Additional DubDelay and DualDelay
    • New: Audiobus state save
    • New: Audiobus Remote option to switch the 4 effect units on/off
    • New: Midi learn option to switch the 4 effect units on/off
    • Reworked several effects to stay „clean“ in extreme settings
    • Most Reverbs got an additional PreDelay Parameter
    • Tempo is independent now from presets and gets globally handled
  • Excellent update to an excellent app. Thank You @elasticdrums

    Lovely

DubDelay is a very nice addition, as is AB state saving. Smart move, sir.

  • Thanks guys. And finally here is an update video, this time with a guitar :)

  • Sold! First purchase of 2018.

I lasted 6 days, this is progress, right?

Dunno, but you outlasted me... that's a pretty low bar, though.

  • I’ve been trying to like this app and insisted on integrating it into my live rig but I’ve had it for now.

I tried to sync it to Loopy but Loopy is not a host so that’s out of the question

I’ve tried midi learn and it just keeps disconnecting from the controller (beatstep).

I’m gonna let it rest and see if any of the updates somehow fixes this. I know this is still early days but I have to admit that expectations were high.

  • Is this universal yet? Or is that still on the table?

  • I was messing around with it this morning with my 3 y o and realised that there's no multitouch on the XY!

Those who compare it to Turnado might want to consider this as a major flaw. Especially as we're talking of touch interface and not a PC software.

  • Yeah, hope that’s addressed. I’m looking forward to more capture time so the motion lasts a lot longer etc too

  • It'd be good to have an easier way to select the FX channels - seems a bit hit and miss at the moment, and I keep accidentally switching them off when selecting the channel boxes. Good app overall though.

  • Hello @elasticdrums ,

Do you think it would be possible to implement a 'beat repeat' - style effect ?

(why literally nobody ever thinks about it ? ...)

Strobe does exactly that. You just have to make sure you are close to the right edge, going up and down controls time subdivisions. Make sure you’re 100% wet ( not literally but one never knows ;))

    So ...

I took time to play a little with this app, and I stand to my point:
There is NO "beat repeat " effect in the four possible slot in Elastic FX

@supadom : I kindly disagree with you: "Strobe" is stutterer.
and "stutterer" just doesn't work (more on that at the end)

The only beat repeat that I can see is in the main section, where it is called "stutterer", actually but doesn't do at all what the stutterer accessible in the standard slots does.

Big issue: the main FX section is not midi mappable. And I'm pretty sure a lot of guys out there would use and FX app with a midi controller while playing an instrument.

That's cool. Mine lives in the cloud until the dev adds more clock sync options.

Yeah, I love these developers, but this app seems pointless in 2018. Worth the money to keep them humming, but I'd rather them focus on Elastic Drums.

Which sync options are you talking of? I can only think of missing Midi sync ...
