    they're actually basing the interface on it, so it is a design decision to be on iOS 11 only

    Totally. I'm on 10 with my iPad Air and find it frustrating, too, that some apps just don't exist for 10.
    Just saying I understand the decision -- if they base the whole navigation on the iOS 11 interface and workings they would have to recreate that whole part of the app for older systems, not just the design but also the functionality.
