    Thank you!

  • Would someone please tell a sound engineering rookie how to use this app? I have a jam I recorded in AUM. I put Maxima on it using the "Master" preset. It sounds louder but overly compressed. I like it better without all that compression. Which knobs do I diddle to get Maxima-mized without sounding all squashed to death?

  • @FredAntonCorvest, my old fruit....... this app is Awsome mate. Totally banging. Love it!.... ;)

You should have met « la Donna » :) so preset master (la Donna) have a look to the algo it ll switch from fast to slow then have a look to the reset parameter it will be longer too. Just curious about the level of your final mix before hitting Maxima? By the way have a look to my official website for a complete description of Maxima, then to the official vids and Doug’s review. Hope it helps.

    @ExAsperis99 :D!!!

There are two wave forms in the display, one is the original signal and the other is after being processed by Maxima. When you change the settings, those wave forms will change too. You might want to just spend some time fiddling with the settings to see how they effect your audio to get a better sense of what they do. Turning Maxima on and bypassing it is a good way to compare the original and new signals as you try to maximize your audio. Even using the same sample and going through the presets to see how they effect the audio can be a way to get a handle on how to use the app more effectively.

In some respects the process is similar to adjusting the contrast, brightness, and other parameters with a photography editor to achieve the results you want.

Thanks very much to you, and Fred, and to Doug for the video. I will figure this thing out. My problem is that I would rather jam than learn software, but sometimes you have to bite the bullet.

Ah just think of it as adjusting the tint on a tube tv. No sweat

    Just curious:

What is separating MAXIMA from Pro-L?

Would it be feasible to close the gap?

I'm very curious too :D I have Auria Pro but without the Pro-L fx.
The only fx I have regarding similar behaviour is Waves L1.

If you intend looking into this, Fred, you may as well wait until FF released the IOS version of Pro-L 2. Hopefully, this will be early in 2018.

  • Congrats on the new release @FredAntonCorvest

Do you guys think this might do a good job on the output for live use?

  • Bumping this. Does this app process audio in real time or do I need to load the file into the app for processing?

I think it depends upon the settings and the audio you’re running through it. If you matched the audio with appropriate presets, I think this would work well.

It works fine in real time. I've had it running as an AU effect in AUM no problem.

Still interested about the existing version.

Definitely! and as you should have already experienced, Maxima is very light on CPU :) In addition and this should go to the tips and tricks category:

Hit the waveform (pause) or hide the plugin to spare more CPU!
