iMPC PRO 2 is really got alot of bugs
For one I really wanted to love this app me being an akai guy, that being said I wish I didn't spend the money. This app wouldn't let me get the discount for buy the previews versions. Also I am using an iPad pro 12.9 and the pads are small and dont fit the screen. So I went out and bought a MPD218 used for $60 and it doesn't work out the box at all with the new app. So I then had to download the editor find out it was on channel 10 not channel 1 were iMPC Pro 2 uses as default lol I know. So they said in a video that there midi was implemented better but I dont see that at all. So next after setting it to channel 1 in the PC editor I went back to the ipad and It will only let me midi learn 12 of the 16 pads LOL WTF is going on. The controller works fine in iMPC and MPC Pro not with the new and improved more expensive version WOW Retronyms and AKAi you guys need to step your App game up.....Below is just a small video I did to show the pads size posted in an earlier post.
Comments
Beatmaker eats this alive....I wasted my money...think I would learn avoid retronyms at all costs
And as the owner of an MPC live...the workflow is nowhere the same which strikes me as the weirdest thing ever
Still waiting for AudioCopy 4... or AudioShare support.
I like this app. Has a lot of fun quick things that can easily be done and made with it, but especially for importing elsewhere, so yes, AS or an AC4 that finally breaks down the door would be hyper welcome.
I think an update is coming..
as lon as the mpc has been out you'd think someone else would have created an app that mirrors this kind of workflow but retro knows that the impc pro v1 and original or the only things similar on iOS . I think that's why in the pas they've been slow to remedy, hopefully this version will get the updates more sooner than later, then again with the new mpc hardware out there they must be on a short leash.
Guys, they dont even has mpc live in the office
What would you expect? They just borrowed the akai name
its really sad
Yeah when the rep said they couldn't test export because they didn't have any Mpc's in the office I was like wtf.. I didn't buy it after they said that. Anyone making a software mpc should have the hardware version there to test compatibility with workflow and file formats.
export works great
exported a project to MPC 2.0 had no issues at all
Good to know, when I asked retronyms they said it should work but they had never tried it.
Have you exported to a USB and loaded on standalone?
I exported via the app then file share from iTunes. The double clicked on the file and it opend in 2.0 PC software with no problems. I can try via My Luxar lightning drive and there app. Its like an iXpand but cooler lol
Okay so when you press the EXPORT FOR MPC DESKTOP button it exports to a folder automatically and you have to grab it through iTunes.
Do you have an MPC Live or X? can you try opening it on the MPC in standalone mode?
I’m actually getting along ok with this one. I had 2 crashes just after release (before the update) when I moved samples between pads, but since the update, no problems, and I like the workflow.
I don’t like comparing it to BM3. BM3 is a full on, sophisticated DAW, equipped with a ton of bells and whistles that happens to have a great sampler and an MPC based workflow. iMPC Pro 2 is a much simpler sampling groove machine with the added bonus of audio tracks.
There seems to be a few people here who already have and love BM3, that have then gone and spent money on iMPC Pro 2 and seem upset that it doesn’t have the feature set of the former. To me they are two different beasts that serve different purposes to different people.
I have little to no issues with iMPC Pro 2 iOS app.
I don't use it for hours a day. But, every time I do something on my older iPad Air 1 with last version of iOS 10.
Sorry to hear about others issues. I did have luck after deleting and reinstalling.
BeatMaker3 comparison is a little non proportional for my workflow.
I use iMPC pro like Gadget.
BM3 is a different app for me.
IMPC is a performance type app or accent piece or for production a sketch pad try different sounds or ideas.
I think compared to ALL APPS THAT COME OUT WITH BUGS iMPC is no different than other apps like it.
I agree. iMPC Pro 2 has a much faster workflow for faster results. It probably suits my needs more than BM3, which has a much more complicated workflow that seems to get in the way of my creative flow. I guess it’s different strokes for different folks.
My most useful apps are ADHD compliant!
As far as Shiz post and midi
I have no issues what I do.
Which is just map them to either my wifi midi controller from Livid or map to the Drum mode of the ole iPad Pro just like BM3.
I think the controller issue is an Akai issue because the company says when I checked a week ago attempting to try same as you with controller they say none of the MPC pad controllers are compatible
I asked about Element, they said not any longer considered compliant.
I think this isn't the apps real issue at a point.
I am gonna grab an IK pad irig controller in near future for using this app.
I hear your frustration and totally get it though! FOR REAL HOMIE
+1
Same here. I’m really liking how much more stable it is right now. I have both BM3 and both are awesome! iMPC Pro2 is a simpler way to get a good beat going and with audio tracks just that much tastier!
So far I loved how easy it was to midi learn the pads to my Axiom Air Mini 32 controller pads, that was fun!
Using an editor to program a controller is not such a terrible thing. And if you have midi learn it is an absolute doddle. Changing a midi channel will take you a few minutes and you will probably never need to do it again.
Bugs, that's another matter.
The bugs dont allow you to midi learn thats the frustrating part
Yo whats up Rustik they even said it had better midi integration lol. If they could fix the bugs It would be great. I used my MPK249 on the original Pro app and it was amazing. I t was at my studio so I bought a mpd218 for home and portable use. Not so much fun. If the pads on the screen were full size I wouldnt even use a midi controller. I must say my favorite feature id drag and drop folder to pads and it loads all the samples in the folder to a pad. that saves so much kit making time for me
Noticed at 0:15 in the song the volume decreased? I was having problems with that also until I discovered the 'double tap' on the mixer level control/s and 'SET CURRENT VALUE GLOBALLY'
I think it's going to be a killer app with a few updates..
Hmm. Weird they said that. I have the mpc element and it works.
PM me what you are talking about please not to derail things here.
I am would love to learn what you mean.
Thanks
RIght.
But contact iMPC they don't "approve" it as an official iOS controller any longer.
I am on the fence about grabbing one for this reason.
And I don't have room
