As far as Shiz post and midi

I have no issues what I do.

Which is just map them to either my wifi midi controller from Livid or map to the Drum mode of the ole iPad Pro just like BM3.

I think the controller issue is an Akai issue because the company says when I checked a week ago attempting to try same as you with controller they say none of the MPC pad controllers are compatible

I asked about Element, they said not any longer considered compliant.

I think this isn't the apps real issue at a point.

I am gonna grab an IK pad irig controller in near future for using this app.

I hear your frustration and totally get it though! FOR REAL HOMIE

Yo whats up Rustik they even said it had better midi integration lol. If they could fix the bugs It would be great. I used my MPK249 on the original Pro app and it was amazing. I t was at my studio so I bought a mpd218 for home and portable use. Not so much fun. If the pads on the screen were full size I wouldnt even use a midi controller. I must say my favorite feature id drag and drop folder to pads and it loads all the samples in the folder to a pad. that saves so much kit making time for me

    True True.

Yeah the folder drop is straight.

Thats way Looptunes iDensity and KMachine rock ---- they do mass import of ACOPY files in a similar type bulk way.

    Saves mad time.

It works with the MPC Element. They have a setting for it in the midi setup section. Using the Element with iMPC Pro is like having an MPC 500 on steroids:) One function that doesn't work is switching banks. But no big deal, I don't need to do it that often while creating and if I do need to I just tap the screen.

  • sweet, that's good to know. the only thing I don't like about the element is it's damn heavy for what it is.... way heavier than my iPad lol.

I’m actually getting along ok with this one. I had 2 crashes just after release (before the update) when I moved samples between pads, but since the update, no problems, and I like the workflow.

I don’t like comparing it to BM3. BM3 is a full on, sophisticated DAW, equipped with a ton of bells and whistles that happens to have a great sampler and an MPC based workflow. iMPC Pro 2 is a much simpler sampling groove machine with the added bonus of audio tracks.

There seems to be a few people here who already have and love BM3, that have then gone and spent money on iMPC Pro 2 and seem upset that it doesn’t have the feature set of the former. To me they are two different beasts that serve different purposes to different people.

I agree, it's like comparing lives session view to logic or some other daw..... I definitely wouldn't use one for the same reason I use the other, the sequencers are nothing alike I could never feel the same way on both instruments

Y’all are making me curious about using Element with the iMPC Pros...is it a big improvemt over the touchscreen experience?

(i use and dig having the virtual pads, I’m a player on these apps more than a sequencer...at the same time I’m mostly working portable/transient rather than instudio)

  • I had the element and it was great, only the weight bothered me but I was trying to keep things as light as the iPad as much as possible, sold it and got the queneo, sold that too, but now I'm running around with the mpc live and a digitakt and both of them make the element a joy to carry.... if I still had it I would keep it haha

The pads are velocity-sensitive so that is a benefit. Also having dedicated buttons for functions such as track mutes and solos is real handy and the transport controls are nice too.

Thanks- there’s a used one at a store nearby, seems like it’d be fun.

Yes it is that good. Can't wait for my 1tb hdd to get here so I can load my samples and go nuts.

I did the "live"help option on the Akai site. I swear. Makes no sense I know.

There is some communication issue somewhere.

    http://www.akaipro.com/products/legacy/mpc-element

Do you see iOS or iPad on here?

I forgot I did this terrible video 2 weeks ago with my first impression and midi approach I use.

(pardon bad bad quality vid and audio in advance)

  • Same. I can't even midi map the 4th column of pads on my iPad pro to my Akai. Channels aren't a problem because the 232 is ridiculously configurable on the fly

  • Is anyone beta testing Retronyms new app?

I did NOT sign up for this.
My guess is that it's the new update to AudioCopy or even worse iMPC Pro 3....
(I still have a few open tickets with the regarding 'issues' in iMPC Pro 2 and if they release iMPC Pro 3 well....).

  • it's not even April

  • I don’t think they will release a new iMpc Pro . It would be better going to subscription model (although not my thing).
I did signed up, and indeed the questions where about iMpc . Maybe big update ?
Still there are bugs left on Pro2

    I can imagine the questions...
    1.do you use midi ?
2.would you consider not using midi ?
3.do you use program change ?
4.would you consider not using pc?
5.do you use midi clock ?
6.would you consider not using midi clock?
7.do you like apps that freeze, crashing, not integrated in iOS workflow?
8.would you consider liking one of the above ?
    9.do you have memory ?
10.would you consider your memory to be erased ?
11.what if we produce a new MPC ? In this episode the story would happen BEFORE we f... up 3 times, a bit like Star Wars so you’d play like Anakin while he was kid...

Thanks for your time and answers, we’ll not read them, the google survey has been automatically deleted from our cloud.
We do have a cool licenced name, so we don’t care !
    Thanks again !
