  • Is this kind of like an alternate universe Fugue machine ?

  • I was thinking the same thing-ish

  • I was listening to David Behrman's 'Music With Memory' the other day and reading the sleeve notes and it made me think of/wish I had something very similar to the strymon module! Something that had 'ears' for Pitch detection similar to the equipment those guys had built themselves back in the 80s, but with modern twists on where you could take it from there. Few days later this appears! Quite similar to what I'd hoped for! Looks fun :) Great job strymon.

Edit, scrap that... It's just a delay/looper! Dunno how I totally missed that!? When I watched the video first time without expanding fullscreen I thought it was pitch detecting from mono input and building its own digital patterns built around the detected pitches...which isn't quite the same thing.
Verrrrry interesting and beautiful sounding delay/looper though!

  • yeah that would have been an extremely nice feature

  • that looks super awesome !

  • Yep looks like a nice swiss army knife. Similar to organelle in some ways but much easier for users to customise patches. Albeit without the flexibility of open source PD. Probably pick one up..

There’s also a ‘routing’ heading on the left screen.

Looks like there could be more in depth modulation options.

I’d really like to see midi import/export. I’m sure it’s on their chalkboard. :)

Edit: Or maybe it’s just the iPhone layout of the new Wavetable synth?

Either way, looking forward to seeing what’s new.

Perfect size for a pedalboard/desktop multi-fx/looper/oddball box? Been waiting a while for something like this :)

    Nice :) !

The update to Groovebox just dropped. Another $4.99 IAP-Synth and a 'Pro' upgrade and no way to complete the bundle if one already got a few of the IAPs previously.

Give GrooveBox parameter automation with proper editing and I'll consider it but for now it's not thanks...

Absolutely. It’s a bypass for me too. Not even interested. The good news is - this is not what Jacob has been making videos about :p

Agree that automation would be a massive boost for us more advanced users....but at the same time the wavetable synth does sound great :)

Literally from day one, the one thing asked for time and time again, is automation recording innGroovebox. But that’s ok because Groove Rider

Also is it still limited to 8 bars with a 16 bar option sitting there grayed out like a reminder of a broken promise?

I whipped out the credit cards and got the Prologue 16 the other day, spent a few days dealing with the usual anxiety issues that comes from buying shit you really can’t afford and, finally gave it a short test spin yesterday.

About the 16 user slots in the digital multi engine....Korg ships the Prologue with a preloaded synth/oscillator (whatever you wanna call it), which will serve as an example in the SDK. It’s 2 wavetables with a sub wavetable, they can modulate each other. The shape knob controls various parameters, will likely be up to the user what happens when you twist that knob. The current menu system on the Prologue gives access to 6 parameters. Korgs VPM engine can be modulated via a loopable attack/decay env. w/intensity settings, which will help free up that LFO for other duties.

I see people going on about 1 LFO and no after touch. The keys on this thing are quiet. And the key action is fast. I’m so tired of keybeds, usually semi weighted, with after touch that just absolutely sucks if you’re a keys player who plays across the whole velocity range. Obviously it would’ve been awesome if they could’ve added after touch without sacrificing any of the current keybeds qualities but, I’m happy since it has a great velocity response (with 9 curves).
It might’ve only have 1 LFO, but it does have cross modulation, ring modulation (in comb. with pitch EG etc), the VPM engine got modulation sources in the menus. 2 LFOs would’ve been great for certain stuff, but the number of this or that doesn’t matter when you use the panel. It’s straight forward, fast and, most importantly very fun. I’m with former Korg employee Tats on this one, it needs to be fun to use.

I wanna see Liljedahl, the FAC dev, Bram Bos, and others start developing for this one. I’m sure Korg would be happy to supply stand-out devs with Prologue units:-). Seeing as this part of the machine will not move anywhere if it doesn’t gain traction I mean.
