sheesh, not sure how valuable these posts are - I guess for people not on twitter and there is context in the forum thread.

    Thats great :)

Great news. The indexing time is not that much of an issue as long as one sees the progress bar. So, yeah...thanks Intua for quickly addressing this.

  • Maybe not the ideal place to ask but I don't want to clutter up the forums with another thread either. Can you launch scenes in beatmaker with something like a launchpad or an APC40? I'm guessing you can't because I don't see anything about that in the focus actions editor, but I figured I'd ask just to be sure.

@SlowMotion There’s a member of the Intua forum called Mefisme who is doing amazing work with APC40 templates by the sounds of it. You should ask them. https://intua.net/forums/index.php?p=/discussion/5951/akai-apc40-or-ipad-session-template-for-bm3-available-now/p1

  • Quick one for anyone with the learning: Easy way to rename a session? Can 'save as' of course and then delete the original, but just wondered if there was a secret under the 'edit' etc.

Tip for other blunderers looking for encouragement (and perhaps not that dancey by nature): Load Beathawk as an AU. Works fulsomely and easily and is remembered well. It's nice being able to use old (BH) projects or simply the odd previous pattern etc., but it's REALLY nice being able to use all of its instruments/banks etc. A good discovery (for me).

  • On my side, I'm still dreaming of an option to change parameters for a global bank in the sampler screen... E.g. currently, if I want to modify the tuning (pitch) of all slices I saved on the pads of a bank or if I want to modify the gain of all sound of a low volume drum bank, I have to apply the same change pad by pad, wouldn't it be awesome to able to do it all at once ? It would save hours on my side...

Yeah agreed. Some kind of equivalent to Elektron 'ctr-all' would be very useful. With 'current bank vs all banks' option.

Either added as a 'when held' button to the left column icons, or as an option included in the pop up window to set individual param knob/s to behave like this.

You could set up a macro control.

Good call. Maybe some macro presets would be a good idea and pretty easy thing for dev to add. Like long hold on a macro and get a pop up with a list of all the sample edit page params. Would be quick way for users to set up any desired global controls across all pads in a bank. And be able to quickly chop and change them.

Means sacrifice a macro per param tho so maybe just a temporary solution til devs have less on their plate ;)

Can you please provide some basic guidance, I admit I never tried and don't really understand the concept of macros... ? If those is a solution, I'm willing to learn... Thx in advance.

Double tap on the control of choice.
    Select macro controls
    Choose your macro knob

Rinse and repeat for all your pads.

Otherwise you can map slices to single pad, single layer to multiple notes and just use one control OR map slices to single pad, multiple layers for more fine control and set your value, doubletap and select “set value for all layers”

Yes, quite easily. Just go to Scene mode in the pad view (on right side of screen) and focus actions assigned to pads will be assigned to scenes. You can even set a focus action to move between different pad modes.

I'm happy to see it! :)

Though recently I've actually been able to tinker a bit with BM3 on my wife's iPad, though getting after getting a suite of music apps on there the kids want it too - it's fun to see what our 8yo does in Gadget and our 4yo loves ReSlice!

  • Hey BMakers!
    Need some help/advise, please.

I have tried to record some automation in BM3, and noticed that the finest resolution is 1/64 which gives audible stepped results in most cases. Is there a way to disable quantization so smooth automation can be recorded?
Please share your way of recording automation, tricks, workarounds.

    Thanks in advance!

Draw your automations with no grid enabled and use as few keyframes as you can

Yes, that's what I'm doing currently, was hoping there is a switch hidden somewhere deep inside :)

My bad. In my fuzzy memory I remember one of the versions having no quantisation. Now it seems we're locked into 1/64 as the minimum.

No, you still can choose Free song grid, just right to the song + zoom button and then draw your automation without any quantization
