    Hey BMakers!
    Need some help/advise, please.

I have tried to record some automation in BM3, and noticed that the finest resolution is 1/64 which gives audible stepped results in most cases. Is there a way to disable quantization so smooth automation can be recorded?
Please share your way of recording automation, tricks, workarounds.

    Thanks in advance!

Draw your automations with no grid enabled and use as few keyframes as you can

Yes, that's what I'm doing currently, was hoping there is a switch hidden somewhere deep inside :)

    Disable automation quantisation

Can you point me where to find that option, please.
    Thanks

My bad. In my fuzzy memory I remember one of the versions having no quantisation. Now it seems we're locked into 1/64 as the minimum.

No, you still can choose Free song grid, just right to the song + zoom button and then draw your automation without any quantization

I know you can draw. To me one of the biggest selling point of bm3 as a daw was the record automation feature. Rigth now I'm recording automation and use that as a guide to redraw, which is fine but not ideal. I thought since it wasn't mentioned before that there is a setting I missed. Hopefully at some point we'll see finer resolution.

    Yes sorry I misunderstood
Indeed there is a minimal step quantization of 1/64 when recording automations

  • Another n00b anguish/question. BM3 can 'see' my Novation Launckey (see pic), as it could the Arturia keystep I had hooked up previously, and it appears to be 'on', but no sound. Rebooted etc but no dice. Can anyone point me to the (no doubt) obvious place where a button needs to be pushed or checked etc? Appreciate the wisdoms.

You have to define Focus Actions

I never had to set up any focus action for my nano key to work. Just set the midi input for the selected bank/pad

Innarestin', the manual did fry my non-boffin-like brain. Many things can obviously be done if and when I want to focus my bank transport switches (sounds more like fiscal policy). I backed away (slowly) and turned on the little bluetooth Nanokey Studio and set it on the track I have Viking Synth on and it worked immediately. The mystery of computers. The other two (wired) objects here don't seem to want to play (for now), but as long as something does :)... May ask our friends at Intua to think about adding a single page to their manual: You have a piano-ey thing, here's how how to make it make noises...

    (Thanks!)

  • For the record (and for those keeping score at home): The Launchkey also works, but the Arturia keypad does not. For now.

  • Had some fun with the new session they included with 3.0.10. Erased all the patterns and made my own track using the banks

Sounds kinda like a grime thing

  • Isn't this updated to 3.0.10?
