What NS2 will offer is a complete self sufficient environment but will be gracious enough to host AUV3..

This is what I am looking forward to a lot. Though there are some great drums and synths not AUV3 so I hope they catch up or I NS2 has inter app audio for those worth it.

Obsidian synth within NS2 might be enough to keep you from lamenting over non AUV3 synths

@tja if i good remember, matt memtioned that NS2 will work on iOS9+

    @ErrkaPetti
Beatmaker 3, Cubasis and Auria Pro (and perhaps FL Studio Mobile) - do we need another DAW for iOS?

depends on your needs .. BM3 is for my workflow unusable crap... cubasis and auria lacking lot for me key features.. i'm missing famous intuitive sequencer if NS1, unbeated by any other iOS DAW.. at the end, on desktop there is even more DAWs available ;) Everybody have different needs, it's great to have possibility to choose daw which best matches my workflow

  • 1 Released
2 Newer shiny shiny two weeks later
3 Who cares it is just a tool (Oh wait, sorry, pro tool right there, with some club ready stuff by a pro in the game who knows)

I only make proper one minute bangers and I know NS2 is all I need to complete tracks.

  • Oh dear... here come the pisstakers lol

  • STOP flame please.. try to be positive...

  • Bite me is quite an impressive teaser. The screenies look really cool and the sounds from this obsidian synth are nice too. Seems to be directed to edm stuff. Cool the dev has some dnb tuned going on here :)
I am really excited. But just to be clear... this is actually coming, not a samplr Update rumor?!

It’s a very real app.. the developer has a very high rep

Yes, it’s geared for those who want to make real electronic music, ships with around 240 presets I think

Are you sure it’s going to be universal at launch? I hope so. I would hate for you to lose your mind. :p

No problem, we can just call him a liar who breaks promises if it doesn't, then keep posting that in every thread about any other software ;)

  • This project has been pushed a ton of times. We’ll see it when it finally comes out. I just don’t know what it’s gonna add that’s not in the app ecosystem already.

  • It will be better than Chinese Democracy. Guaranteed.

Flow, for some of us, that's what we're hoping.

It’s mid January and blip interactive had explained why he had not released his NS2 already.

I think he did the honourable thing..

I’d like to offer the following prediction for the app, maybe you can share yours?

    Release : March 2018
Price : £9:99 at launch, going up to £19:99 after
    IAP- unlimited tracks for £4:99

It will now be released as a universal app as the dev has bought himself more time and needs the revenue from both kind of devices.

Because of the delays and even the developers almost unparalleled skill at making apps that are powerful yet don’t use much cpu at all, it will hardly need bug fixed or updates ( only for iOS updates), and it will be iOS 11 only because of AUV3 etc...

Tracks made on the app will likely need minimal mastering because of the sheer quality of the compression and eq within it.

It will be the biggest app of 2018 and take iOS music to a far different height and get massive media attention

Anyone like to add or subtract from this?

I think you're overexaggerate the whole thing...

Beatmaker 3, Cubasis and Auria Pro (and perhaps FL Studio Mobile) - do we need another DAW for iOS?

I'm more than pleased with wonderful Beatmaker 3 and high quality Auria Pro (with full IAP from Fabfilter)...

And, I agree with @Samu that it certainly not will be a universal app already in march...

How do I exaggerate? Did you listen to the blip interactive SoundCloud demos?? That’s fully pro music right there. I’ve heard nothing that comes even close to that from the other daws you mention . If I’m wrong, send me a link...

The obsidian synth is a killer

And those that used ns1 know that the workflow of blip interactive apps is a joy

And... yes we need more daws, the market is over flooded with synths and fx apps but only a few daws

Off the top of my head as far as daw type apps, we have:

    NS1
    Cubasis
    FL Mobile
    Caustic
    GarageBand
    Gadget
    BM2
    BM3
    Music Studio
    Isequence hd

    Likely I missed something

But that’s just ten and it won’t be over 15

Yeah the demos are great but there is absolutely no reason you couldn't do similar tracks in any of the other DAWs we already have.

Check out this guys channel for some nice hip hop production featuring BM3. Maybe it's not your style of music but you can't say it isn't professional.

Yep, there’s no reason why those demos can’t be done similar in other daws, but..none have produced anything of that calibre yet

As far as the hip hop you linked, that vid? The sounds are very basic, there’s not much layers to the song...it’s very simple like you could make on imaschine or something. I’ve not heard the sampling potential that many gush over actually demonstrated properly yet

Hip hop music is very abc and doesn’t require much attention to detail and is far from a complex art form

It's just about personal workflow ..

there are no "best" or "worst" daws ..

each one matches personal neeeds of some music genre or some musician..

for me personally there is currently no DAW on iOS which will cover all my needs and will fit to my workflow - tried many of them, some were less painfull to use (gadget - great synths, terrible sequencer), some were for me pure catastrophe impossible to use (bm3 - terrible everything :))).. but that's just me ..

NS2 will be that kind of DAW, i'm pretty sure with this, so that's why i'm very excited about it.. I'm synth guy, i like integrated enviroment without need switch bettween multiple apps - so AB, AUM, IAA - i'm not interested in those technologies.. on other side AUv3 is nice ... my music is usually quite complex (lot of layers, lot of automation curves, lot of sound design) - so streamlined user friendly sequencer is for me important, on other side i don't give shit about sampling - kick, hihats and snares and sometimes some movie vocals are maximum of sampling i use .. Sometimes i syntetize also drums by myself :-))

But this doesn't mean that it will be "the daw" for everyone .. it's foolish to think something like that .. Just it's nice to have one more option.

So calm down guys.. not needed to make flame here ..

I find gadget ok for sequencing.. I do like the AUV3 integration in GB but sequencing in it is too slow

Like you, I prefer an integrated environment. NS2 will offer that but also AUV3 if needed. For me, Zeon will come in handy for dnb on NS2 as will kauldron and synthscaper. But from what I’ve heard, obsidian synth will be super potent and, multiple instances thereof for bass, pads, drums and samples... it might just free up space on my device lol

Just needs warp markers and modulation of sample start point/loop window and job done. But even as it is, it's super powerful and possibilities are endless. Maybe the people using it in ways that would impress you are just using it on records and not on YouTube demos ;)

Same as every other genre. And same as ever other genre, its down to the person making it, not the daw ;)

    Sounds damn awesome to me

That hip hop statement is made by someone who does not understand music in my opinion. That’s such a ridiculous statement. I don’t like country music or heavy metal but I will never downplay them.

Dude what are you talking about?? Hiphop is still hiphop. It evolved in to itself. Maybe some stuff spun off along the way and became other things but that happens with all music. Those early hiphop artists you mention evolved from music that came before and social conditions and hiphop was born. There are some producers doing amazing work in hiphop these days. Just not very often on the radio. Seek and ye shall find...
