And the 'Laziest Motherlover of the Decade' award goes to...
I’m glad this time wasn’t me who’s pointed this out. I was about to. Thanks
Actually since you’ve gotten my attention could I get yours?
I’ve noticed you’ve just started 3 threads. Is it really necessary to open a thread for every iOS thought we have? The internet is vast and there are answers out there.
Starting multiple threads, especially with elaborate headers as this one can lead to confusion for other people looking for answers.
Could you please start seeing reasearch more like fruit picking and less like angling?
Thanks
Definitely getting a little out of hand.
I think the ik stuff is ok but a bit plasticy
If you want the bundled software (mainly desktop, but some iOS unlocks too) then it can be good value, otherwise I think it’s relatively expensive.
Nicely asked
And even though it’s only @supadom and @Sebastian this round, this is the kind of unhelpful mob mentality from other forums like KVR, Gearslutz, Image-Line, etc that I can’t stand. We’re supposed to be welcoming and helpful, NOT ganging up to personally attack and insult someone. He asked a simple question. I don’t understand what’s so fucking hard about patiently answering it without the snarky sarcasm, even if it’s as simple as pointing him to someplace like Guitar Center, Sweetwater, or Amazon to compare devices. It discourages someone from returning to what I thought was a friendly and helpful community.
Maybe if you brought back the old search instead of relying on Duck Duck Goose which NEVER gets me the results I want (i.e. never in chronological order), searching these forums for answers would be far easier and simpler. If a search bar was included in the iPhone version of this forum, searching these forums for answers would be far easier and simpler.
Welcoming and helpful it’s ok,
but it’s a good habit to at least try a google search before asking whatever is going on your mind

This forum remains the most newbie friendly place I've had the pleasure of being a part of -- particularly for a technical one. But no forum has infinite patience.
I know that many in the Apple crowd are used to having everything spoon fed to them, but you should at least act like you're trying to help yourself, and not spawn new threads for every little question.
We could always open up a folder thread with links to every silly questions aka FAQ and make it sticky.
And again, this right here is the exact toxic attitude from the Image-Line forums that eventually made me stop visiting it. “They just want to be spoonfed information, so let’s all gang up on them and unfairly take the piss out of them.” I don’t want this type of attitude seeping into our forum is what I’m trying to say.
Stop being such a drama queen. Nobody is ganging up. People just like YOU are just having their say. And if you really care so much about common courtesy, you shouldn't be dropping "F" bombs.
Dude, I don’t know how much do you know the OP but I’m getting masses of new threads from him on FB Ipad musicians page as well. This guy has been in my life for less than 3 weeks and I already know his user name by heart, which didn’t quite happen with yours even though you’ve been here quite a while.
Sometimes a bit of tragedy helps people to realise what has been rubbing other people the wrong way and often sarcasm or literary hyperboles are not enough. I don’t think any actual insults have been directed at anybody. Possibly a bit of patronising but I wouldn’t classify it as abuse but maybe my thresholds are different than yours.
I’m not planning on starting Audiobus World War 3 with this but since it is a mostly self policed place occasionally someone has to say something (as you have a right to do) especially if something’s happening on absolutely regular basis. In my mind comparing this place to other forums you’ve mentioned is kinda offensive in its own self.
I would point OP in some direction but I just don’t have time for someone who can’t even be bothered to give his thread a proper (or any for that matter) title. I’m just such an impatient bastard inside I guess.
But since you’re here @jwmmakerofmusic why don’t you give mr dolecek a few pointers instead of adding kerosene to the flame?
@supadom I understand mate, but people can be more polite about redirecting the guy or asking him to condense his questions into one thread. If you have, then maybe ignoring him would be best. I’ve been through several different musician forums and hated them because of these types of attitudes towards newbies. Granted this is the first time I’ve seen “the claws” come out on a newbie here. That reminds me...
@jdolecek70 Irig stuff is alright and was specifically designed to work with iOS. There are other options out there too, but those require you to buy the camera connection kit in order to hook them up via USB.
@telecharge F-bombs are not the same thing as spreading the type of toxic attitude you’re spreading by name-calling me and falling into every other stereotypical “toxic forum musician” cliche I’ve dealt with over the years. If you want to be a stereotypical forum musician, go off to KVR and Gearslutz where the like of you belongs. We don’t need your sort around here.
@jwmmakerofmusic I didn't know you were the self-appointed guardian of forum honor.
I doubt anyone is swayed by your hyperbole. You're clearly in the minority on this issue, and it isn't worth arguing. We can agree to disagree.
I dig my irig hd, I used it most of all my innerfaces.
And I didn’t know you were the self-appointed importer of forum musician cliches, and I doubt anyone is swayed by your own hyperbole.
The only reason I seem to be in the minority here is that other people, weary of political flamewars by now, don’t want to participate in “yet another flamewar”. My two cents, and agreeing to disagree is about the best way forward.
Oh, I see. You're the only one brave enough to stand up to us mean 'ol bullies who are chasing away all the doe-eyed innocents.
Naw, just that other people are far more polite than me.
One thing you don’t know about me is I’ve been crackin skulls in forums long ago. This is why when I started being more active here in 2015, I was surprised at how nice everything was. It was unlike every other musician forum.
Anyways, see what @rumorazzi wrote? A patient suggestion to use Google. See what @mschenkel.it wrote? A patient suggestion that Dolacek’s threads be combined into a FAQ of sorts. Those are the types of posts I’m used to seeing here.
Maybe you and the OP can get together and launch the world's first successful audio pre-school.
I already gave the benefit of the doubt.

And you can be the school principal. God knows you’re mean enough.
Ah, and whose kind, polite and welcoming reply is that following yours? Ahem, I’ll let you take a few minutes to figure it out.
So what? You're patting yourself on the back for being polite? My doormat always says "Welcome," and it's always getting walked on.
Yep, @Michael?
I think we had something similar about audio interfaces. It got rather humongous though.
Good idea
And yet, when I was angry at you earlier, I said you could sod off to Gearslutz and KVR. I guess I wasn’t being welcoming of you, now was I?
Speaking of clichés, "I don't like you, so go away" is a famous refrain of those with no real argument.
Ah such a pity. You were doing so well mate, but the “no real argument” cliche is the sign that someone ran out of all of their cleverness.
Welp, you were a worthy opponent while it lasted.
Well, it's either that, or you've missed the point.
We all share this forum, and respect is a two-way street. It's already obvious we have different thresholds, but my quarrel isn't with the volume or quality of questions -- it's the way they are asked.
I checked, and........I still quite like my irig hd. It sounds wonderful......
I bought a Focusrite iTrack Pocket, on sale for $8 around a month ago. It has 1/4 inch input for guitar, and built in stereo mic. It connects directly with an included lightning cable, and can connect through a USB hub if you use your own USB cable. And most importantly it works and sounds great. If you can find this one on sale still, I recommend it.
And don’t be discouraged by people being discouraging. They must not realize that this forum is part of this internet thingy they keep referring you to.
