Thank you!
And wow! That cello!
To be more precise, it’ll be at the bottom of the list. Pro-tip - double-tap anywhere in a gadget that’s not a knob/toggle/slider, and the GUI will zoom in. Do the same to zoom out.
Yeah. Is nice.
I can’t preview any of the new IAP’s in Gadget. Probably need to purchase Korg Module first, huh? Lol!!
Not the Scarbee. The Kapro libraries yes but they cost 199$ (when on sale)....
@MusicMan4Christ
Many of the sounds in Marseille and the Triton expansion (in Module) are from the Trinity. I'm pretty sure a bunch of the effect algorithms are as well.
In case anybody's curious about what KApro means, it's Kurt Ader Productions. Ader is the musician and sound designer who has created a lot of the Kronos sounds. Here he is performing some of his Kronos sounds at the recent NAMM. It's interesting to see what he's able to get out of the orchestral patches.
Some of his digitized voice patches that you hear in this video are included in Dreamy Synths, according to the Korg site. http://www.korg.com/uk/news/2018/020102/
Even though I know the names of a lot of sound designers for Kontakt, Omnisphere, etc., I've never heard of him before. Working with Kronos, I think his focus seems to be not as much on composing (as most Kontakt libraries are), but on playability and live performance. Doug's video suggests this, because you can get different instruments if you hit the keys harder.
Here are some of his libraries.

The prices are a bit higher, even at the sale prices listed here. The Symphonic Dreams goes for $149, although maybe it includes more stuff.
@Reid he is also the sound designer behind iSymphonic which is similar in concept — in fact some of the sounds in this pack are similar to patches in iSymphonic
That's interesting. He was listed at NAMM as an iOS designer, among other things. I do my orchestral music on the computer, so I've never spent the $$$$ on iSymphonic.
Yes I recognise his name from iSymphonic. Bloody awesome sounds !!
He has a Facebook page. He posted this picture of himself standing next to John "Skippy" Lehmkuhl (aka The PluginGuru, in purple shirt) who programmed so many of the presets we all use on the Korg synths, starting with the M1. I don't know any of the others except for Eduardo Tarilonte, second from left. Anybody here knows who any of the others are?
As a kronos owner, i'm very familiar with Kurt Ader. He's very active on the Kronos owners facebook group and has been doing libraries for the kronos ever since its release in 2011. His symphonic libraries are highly praised in the Kronos community, including Jordan Rudess.
Can anyone definitely say that the sound quality of say Module in Gadget is the same a Gadget individually used?
Is it more efficient for CPU to run Module alone or to actually use it though Gadget?
I feel like Module just squeezes every last drip out of my CPU and it is hard to keep it up with other things happening.
Keep it up may be the wrong use of words.
But, since I am immature, I like it.
I much prefer running through Gadget and also playing several instances together. I haven’t noticed any major difference to playing them in Module.
Yeah here’s the link...it’s about a 3rd of the way down
http://www.korg.com/us/products/software/korg_gadget/for_mac.php
bought the ocrhestral sounds, based on recommendations from a friend. haven't tried it yet because i had to leave home and figured i would audition at work on my phone....but bummer...seems not to be available on the phone, doesn't show up on the module store, etc. that sucks.
If I recall correctly at some point Korg Module was two separate apps one for iPhone and one for iPad?
Could it be that the iPhone version of the app is not yet updated while the current iPad app is and it's also universal?
Meaning if the purchased version of Module on the iPhone is the 'iPhone version' and not 'Universal' one thus the new IAP's don't show up?
It should still be possible to do the 'sync install' between devices to transfer the IAPs?
(Same way it's possible to transfer 'Darwin' to iPhone without iM1 since it's not universal).
I've not gotten any of the new IAPs yet but I'm leaning towards the two of them...
Module is universal and updated on iPhone the other day.
There's still two Module.app's available to add to the confusion.

Korg Module Standard for iPhone (which only works for the iPhone) and Korg Module that is universal and the Le version...
yeah but i should at least SEE the iap in module when i go to it's store, the issue is not that it's not showing up as purchased, it's that it's not even available.
OK, I did some more digging on this. I believe I was wrong. It seems you DO get Triton, 80s EP, Mellow Tape, Premier Organ and Wurley included with Gadget for Mac. I think Triton and Mellow Tape are buried in Glasgow, and Wurley and 80s EP are buried in Montreal, and Vintage Premier Organ is buried in Alexandria.
I could not find patch lists for any of the Gadgets online in order to do a detailed examination, and the Gadgets in Mac don't give you any way to identify from which IAP the various presets might come. But comparing the number of presets on a Mac version of Gadget to the number of presets on my iPad, the list is much longer on the Mac version. For example, Glasgow on my iPad was about 50 presets and on the Mac computer I checked it was about 150 presets. Similar comparison w/ iPad vs. Mac and Montreal and Alexandria. I didn't have time to go through and compare every single preset, but I'm pretty sure you DO get all of those IAPs with the Mac version. They are just buried in various Gadgets and not easy to spot all in one group.
Hope this helps.
Module on its own is much better because you can layer two patches together (called variations). The differences are most apparent if you play the cinematic grand preset (Ivory). That said Gadget is always improving and might catch up to Module. You can still get fantastic sounds in Gadget but for something like a solo piano song better do do it with Module alone routed into Cubasis or AUM.
I can layer much more than that playing through Gadget. Each to their own
My point being they're close but not quite identical.
Thanks, it’s such a shame they have not sorted out the rights for cross device integration of these packs....kinda puts me off although you can export the audio stems so there is a work around
They sound....O.K.

But yeah, lack velocity layers and dynamics.
So not so cheap at all
Velocity layers work fine with the new sound packs - very expressive but I find played best with external keyboard.
There are ways to get expressions using other apps, for example BM3 or Cubasis. You've also got the velocity automation window. Cubasis and Module make a good match.
got the kapro orchestra . love it. super happy with the purchase. very expressive and realistic.
