I released Looptunes 3.0 over the weekend. The latest version features a step sequencer, and a revised fx panel.

  • Wow, that looks amazing! Was going to head to bed but this deserves some attention!

  • Ah, I guess I have the iPhone app which hasn’t been updated yet? I didn’t realize there were three versions.

  • On my wishlist. Look like a super fun app!

  • @sonicreef Hi loving this app however if I import a sample wave file via the AudioShare option, the app immediately crashes, it’s fine with the internal sounds. I’m using iPad Pro 9.7 2016 Model with latest iOS. Any ideas why ?

  • Holy cow, this is a monster update, @sonicreef. Congrats!

  • I'm fairly ignorant regarding this - is this for Looptunes or Looptunes DJ? And can anyone boil down the differences for me?

  • I don’t see this update on my iphone. is this a ipad only update? Is this app universal? I can’t remember

hmm, I thought I fixed this one. Is it still happening with version 3.0.4?

the step sequencer is iPad only (HD and DJ version)

  • @sonicreef - How are the DJ and HD versions different? Please explain to this humble noob. Your app is interesting to me.

A deck where you can load entire songs (mp3) with regular djing controls in opposition to regular looptunes deck where you load samples.

    Ahh thanks.....

Just been looking at the site...it says that you can record your performances and then get to them through iTunes..... :| Is this the only way to get stuff out of it ? Can it run hosted in AUM and the output be recorded there ?

At the beggining it was a bit limited with iTunes and so but later the options were improved includding AudioShare. Also AB support and so. Check the info at appstore, web could be outdated maybe...

  • at some point I also added support for the iOS 11 files app, which lets you copy your recordings. That, and AudioShare.

  • @sonicreef I hope you continue to push this app toward real time manipulation of samples and effects. Really unique stuff. Would also be nice to record some of the interactions to automate and store for playback. Amazing update...

Ahh yes I can see audioshare mentioned on app store and Ableton Live Export......BUT does the audio share include sending recorded performances to Audio share...or is it just for importing loops from audioshare ?

  • Two questions not answered on the web page:
What audio formats are supported natively (without decoding) when importing loops?
Can they be imported by iTunes File Sharing?

  • @sonicreef great meeting you the other week!

    wav, aiff, m4a, ogg.
And yes, they can be imported via iTunes file sharing. You put them in an 'importedLoops' directory.

all the factory loops are in ogg format.
I actually haven't tested importing ogg loops, but it should work.

  • How’s the manual for it?
