I like Model 15 but I'm still waiting on a randomizer to get implemented lol.... for me iOS is all about getting away from all the stuff I deal with outside of iOS so I'm looking for workflow too, but like the rest of us I've spent a chunk unnecessarily.
you guys think an iPad mini 4 is good enough to run it effectively?
Hard to answer as I don’t know how that model compares to my Air2. My Air 2 is fine, until I try to use two instances of AU with multiple layers and other stuff, then sometimes it folds. I’m not sure if it’s just because the Air2 has less RAM than the Pros, so you may have similar issues with the mini
ok thanks again
I find myself going to it more and more as time goes on. Pretty easy to find a sound I want without fuss. I like other synths for programming and tweaking, but I’m very happy with Syntronik.
I think for me what really intrigues me is that it has the roland rs-09 and rs-505 and I'm really enamored by those synths, they are my favorite and this is the first time I've seen them available for iOS but I'm still cautious about dropping $47 on it cause I know if I don't use it I'll be dissappointed.
I unexpectedly got the green light this morning from the CFO (bless that woman)! I’d downloaded the freebie version when it came out, but I’m really chuffed to now have the whole kit and caboodle!
Wonderful to hear about the major update to LayR too!
I just upgraded and the sounds are retardedly good. It downloaded the extra content pretty fast too. I love that I can change sounds from my mpk249 but I cant figure out how to midi learn the buttons elsewhere
Not sure as I don't have Cubasis but if I was you would try record the parameter changes with Cubasis controls rather than the Syntronik controls and see if it records the automation if you do that way
Here is a review of Syntronik I wrote for AudioNewsRoom
http://audionewsroom.net/2018/01/ik-multimedia-syntronik-review-your-vintage-synth-collection-on-ios.html
I have a lot of synths on my computer, and this is one of my very favorites. I use it all the time. And I like it so much that I have it on iOS too. What makes it great are the multis. You can get something very powerful combining four synths with different arps and effects. If you have a controller with knobs or sliders, it's amazing.
Also, IK has been amazing about supporting it on the computer. They have provided free additional patches and samples for 4 of the synths so far. I expect that will continue, and hopefully they will bring a bit of that already created extra content to iOS someday.
My opinion is that I end up just playing around with it for ages without even any real direction home. The layering and the effects within the layering....whoosh....time goes by and despite all of my excellent taste and miserable punk sensibility I end up more often than not as some weird church organ hippie with a prog fetish.
Lovely.
@livemike First of all, please change this thread name from Syntronick to the right spelled Syntronik (easier in the future to search threads concerning this great app)...
I love Syntronik, but, it's not like LayR (although they both can layering sounds), Syntronik is samplebased and LayR is a "real" synth with synthesized sound with oscillators...
But, both sounds amazing! But, if you're short of storage on your iPad, Syntronik may not be the first choice here...
It seems just turning on Write for the AU parameters and fiddling the fader or knob on this synth interface (the usual method?) doesn’t do it. But if you assign a Midi controller using Midi learn on the parameter you want to automate, and use the controller while recording, it will work. This is where you set it up :
You don’t actually need to use a hardware KB controller. I was able to assign the mod wheel of the Cubasis built in KB to control the Filter Frequency and record the automation.
When using the midi learn, it took a couple of attempts to get it to hook up correctly, but it did and recorded the automation fine, which appeared in the automation editor afterwards, and successfully changed the parameter setting on playback.
will def check this out... hey does anyone know how long the sale will last?
makes it harder to resist haha
Thanks...looks like there's a workaround.
Brilliant, will try this later, thank you!
@kobamoto end of March I read somewhere
thanks Mike
Someone call?
And your point is...
Thanks for this CP!
Is there additional content beyond the initial install downloading and installing? If so, how is it accessed?
Do you mean the IAPs? If so, then yes there is a lot more content, but for a price. You get tons in the free initial install version though.
No, I bought the whole shebang, I misread his comment as if there was additional. Too early... coffee not yet ready!
Well you are in for some fun, then. I only have the freebie, but it keeps me very entertained.
the iPad version offers extra content?
I think someone earlier mentioned something about there being more content in the desktop version and that it might make it to the iOS version or something like that... I'm not sure which version just added extra content either?
man it better be free if they do, all the money I just dropped on this app lol
