Nominate a synth for AB Forums monthly Sound Fest

Nominate a synth.

Try to only nominate synths that can save sounds for sending in without use of a laptop etc.

The top 3 nominated synths that are suitable (managements discretion) will then be voted on by the forum to see which one we make a program pack for next.

Nominate as many synths as you want.

You can nominate on here or send me a message

Nominations will be counted in a weeks time.

  • Sadly a lot synths really offer no easy sharing here that really limits the number.....especially for iPhone users.
I wanted to nominate others but then i have to choose Model 15, Mitosynth or Zeeon so far.

  • I have a good feeling VOLT will be a good candidate for this.
It's supposed to be out today :)

  • Ripplemaker...DRC would have been awsome but I don’t think there is a good preset sharing option

    +1

  • Let's go way back and bring Nave out?

  • Audulus 3

  • VOLT's out $8.99

Will take some time to familiar with it and try to avoid 'dock issues' under iOS11 among a few other things.

  • Oh Volt is iPad only :s Damn....that one might interest me even more than Model D :s :s

  • SunVox!

    There, I said if

    Actually let's do Alchemy Pro...

  • I’m going to nominate Kauldron, Mood, Poison 202 and Zeeon

  • Nominate Ripplemaker and Phasemaker

  • Volt should definitely be considered.

  • LayR (post update). And Poison 202 definitely needs some community spirit, though its preset sharing system doesn’t seem as accessible. And a community Zeeon bank would of course be awesome.

  • Mood, Poison 202 & Zeeon for sure.

I'd love to see Layr too, but I'm gonna need to spend some time with that first.

We should also set a specific timeframe for submissions - this way folks have time to work out some patches. With my little kids it's tough to carve out time for space noises.

I started to check some of my AU synths:

    • Redshrike, LaPlace, Mersenne and Lorentz use the same preset manager GUI. It allows easy export/import of banks (or folders) and single presets. It is possible to rename/delete banks and to delete presets.
    • Zeeon allows easy export/import of banks (or folders) and single presets. It is possible to rename/delete banks and to delete presets.
    • RippleMaker allows export of all user presets to a zip file, the filename has to be in the format [bankname]_presets.zip to be imported again. BUT there seems to be no preset management in RippleMaker, i could not delete/rename presets or imported banks.
    • PhaseMaker has only a single user bank and no other folders, which an be exported to a zip. This zip can be imported and all patches with a name not already in the user bank will be added. I didn’t find a way to export single patches, but one can find these in the exported bank zip.
    • Mood and iVCS use the same preset manager GUI. It allows to export/import banks to files. It is possible to rename/delete banks and presets. Single preets can be exported by putting them in a new bank and exporting the bank. I found out that for Mood the user-samples are not included in the exported file, all samples need to be imported one by one. I didn‘t check this for iVCS, but samples are not the main focus of this cool retro synth.
    • Phosphor 2 has only a single user bank and allows to export/import single presets to xml in the clipboard which then can be pasted into a message or notes for storage. No export/import of the whole bank or adding of another bank.

    Unsuccessfull:

    • For iSEM i didn‘t find bank/preset exporting.
    • TroubleMaker didn‘t offer an own preset manager - only the host can store/load local presets.

Maybe a Virsyn synth like Tera would be good

  • Another vote for Ripplemaker.

  • Zeeon. I've enjoyed programming new sounds on that more than anything lately. So much fun.

A poll seems the right idea to me As this is a monthly event, then the order doesn't matter. Eventually, you can get to the ones people want the most.

It's not just about which synths are best, but also which synths people own, so they can take part and benefit from the results. But hopefully, this will be a way to sell more.

  • I would nominate RippleMaker, Redshrike and Zeeon.

But in the end it doesn‘t matter which synth is choosen, new presets are always welcome :)

  • Zeeon and Mood. Would want to do Volt as well, but would be sad if they ended up being stuck in the standalone mode.

  • Redshrike and Lorentz

Going to do 3 weeks from the time the synth is chosen. In future will decide synth the month before, then first three weeks of the month and last week to sort it all out.

  • Model 15/ Mood / Zeeon / Odyssei

  • 1) Moog Model 15
    2) LayR
    3) Zeeon
