  • Getting a few issues cropping up with Volt, so it might be too early for us to tackle this one

  • Model 15. It is intimidating, but has a kickass preset sharing system. Imagine us all becoming Model 15 gurus, would be awesome. :)

    I'm super down with this.

  • What about FX apps. I often find them even more interesting to transform any sound.

  • Synth apps seem the most obvious for creating and sharing presets, but I think samples might be just as fun. Samplebot is so great for recording little samples and field recordings in sets of 16 and it exports just as easily. With members all around the world it could result in some super interesting samples. :)

  • DRC
    Volt
    LayR
    Animoog

I started to check some of my AU synths:

    • Redshrike, LaPlace, Mersenne and Lorentz use the same preset manager GUI. It allows easy export/import of banks (or folders) and single presets. It is possible to rename/delete banks and to delete presets.
    • Zeeon allows easy export/import of banks (or folders) and single presets. It is possible to rename/delete banks and to delete presets.
    • RippleMaker allows export of all user presets to a zip file, the filename has to be in the format [bankname]_presets.zip to be imported again. BUT there seems to be no preset management in RippleMaker, i could not delete/rename presets or imported banks.
    • PhaseMaker has only a single user bank and no other folders, which an be exported to a zip. This zip can be imported and all patches with a name not already in the user bank will be added. I didn’t find a way to export single patches, but one can find these in the exported bank zip.
    • Mood and iVCS use the same preset manager GUI. It allows to export/import banks to files. It is possible to rename/delete banks and presets. Single preets can be exported by putting them in a new bank and exporting the bank. I found out that for Mood the user-samples are not included in the exported file, all samples need to be imported one by one. I didn‘t check this for iVCS, but samples are not the main focus of this cool retro synth.
    • Phosphor 2 has only a single user bank and allows to export/import single presets to xml in the clipboard which then can be pasted into a message or notes for storage. No export/import of the whole bank or adding of another bank.

    Unsuccessfull:

    • For iSEM i didn‘t find bank/preset exporting.
    • TroubleMaker didn‘t offer an own preset manager - only the host can store/load local presets.

Thanks. Very helpful and might have to rule some out for now.

  • Twin 2, Phasemaker, iMS 20

  • There is a definite pattern forming.

I will be surprised if the top 5 synths are not Zeeon, Mood, Model 15, Ripplemaker and Redshrike. I still have to check Ripplemaker for ability to put everyone’s sounds together. I can’t see any problems with the others.

  • What about Thor?

You can nominate any synth you want. It will only go forward to the vote if it has the right save system, same as any nomination.

    Ok Boss! Thor then!!

  • Can someone send me a Ripplemaker Zip of their AU presets, to see if importing it into mine merges them or not?

Ripplemaker...DRC would have been awsome but I don’t think there is a good preset sharing option

DRC! First thing that came to my mind. Would be great if it's possible.
Other than that, Kauldron and Kaspar.

  • Zeeon is my 1st choice, hands down.

I'd like to say Layr but will take some learning before I contribute anything worthwhile.
Some Mood presets might actually make that useful for me (man, I HATE the menu system for selecting sounds).
    Redshrike was a cool idea.

  • Ppg Infinite

  • Volt would be cool! I just tweaked and saved my first preset, although a tweaked up one from the defaults. But I’m really impressed!

  • Sunrizer
    Zeeon
    Nave

  • How about tc-11? Its pretty challenging, massive and you can share patches by email
+1s for Ripplemaker, (DRC and iVCS, might be difficult to do)

  • edited March 2018

    Bebot

  • Ripplemaker would be a treat.

  • Animoog, TC-11, DRC, Cylop, Model 15, Zeeon and everything ppg

  • Model 15, Mersenne and Lorentz.

I love Zeeon and Mood but there are already lots of 3rd party presets out there for both.

    Zeeon, Model 15, DRC.

Thanks. Ripplemaker is definetly an odd one and while I’m not sure how well it may come across as a pack.....hmmmm.

The AUs definetly seem to add but one final test to see if they then save as a zip all together.

  • Update:

DRC - I can’t figure out how we could make a group pack with this one.
Ripplemaker - we can do this, but only with the AU presets and no way to seemingly link them with a specific sequence.

Going to extend the selection for vote to 8 synths that are all pretty much getting regular nominations. These 8 can all be done over time. Will keep the nominations open for the week as first said, but it’s clear certain ones will be in the vote, so we may as well get on with it - after all, we can do them all in time if we do this monthly :)

Any objections to having the vote soon?

    Sounds great! No objections here.

  • Go ahead - I'll be voting for either Model 15 or Zeeon.

Also we should revisit Model D again at some point.

Is Model 15 still on sale?
