Sorry if i missed this but could we use Drambo as FX processor to get a kind of Step FX on iOS?

    Yes

    :o :o :o :o :o
    Awesome!

  • It comes as standalone, au instrument and fx - a lot of mess :)3

But also a lot to mess around with ;) And even the answers here have no latency lol.

  • This is getting dangerous

  • @giku_beepstreet look foward to Drambo - will there be bitcrush/decimate effect ? Hope so as this app looks really good

I second this. Nice pasty, buttery bit crunch is always a great addition to percussive stuff, especially when sequenced

Its modular, so my intention is to add every module I can imagine. Bitcrusher is among the basic stuff

    @giku_beepstreet ok brilliant Also
1.whats the maximum number of bars per pattern?
2.maximum groove shift quantize in percent plus standard quantizes?
3.will there be an option to load AU and IAA effects in standalone?
    4.maximum sampling time?
    5.in built sampler?
6.convert a stereo sample to mono left or right? Really handy when wanting to choose left/right of a stereo sample as some instruments in samples are panned left/right.This option is in Audioshare&Beatmaker3 -would be excellent if in Drambo
7.Quantize per part or overall quantize per pattern Or both?
    8.Part/Note shifting?
All the above maybe not on initial release but looking at what Ive seen these features may be implemented already or planned to be in future updates
    :-)

So hyped for Drambo! Some fx suggestions you may/may not have on your list ;)

-Pitch shifter like the POG pedal.
-LOFI warbly/compression effect like Zvex LOFI Junky/Chase Bliss Warped Vinyl/Roland sp404 mki Vinyl Sim effect.
-Granular fx like Nebulae V2 module.
-Wacked out Delay like Chase Bliss Tonal Recall.
    -Decent Amp/cabinet Sim.
    -Decent Spring Reverb.
-Bitcrush module comparable to Decimort 2 on Desktop.
    -Mojo Tape Echo/saturation like Re201/Deco/Ableton 10 Echo/Satin etc.

I'd pay IAP instantly for quality interpretations of any of those fx :)

Agree 100% and that Decimort1&2 are the best bitcrushers on Desktop -if something like that makes it on ios would be excellent in a drum machine

  • Please add kind of Alchemy modFX then :D ....can of worms open.....
What else? Harmonic filters, tube distortion, binaural panning.... :)

I’d be more than happy with anything sounding like k-machine’s Shaper.

  • Might as well throw in a Pitch correction module

  • I might have missed it but will it be possible to get Drambo to swing? Or even nudge a particular step earlier or later in time?

    @giku_beepstreet ok brilliant Also
1.whats the maximum number of bars per pattern?

For now 4. Maybe it will be configurable. But its easier to me to set 4 patterns, loop them and select them directly (just like pages) than scrolling 16 bars pattern.

2.maximum groove shift quantize in percent plus standard quantizes?

    well 99% ? :)

3.will there be an option to load AU and IAA effects in standalone?

No.. Internal modules can handle e.g. 10000 triggers per second and sample rate modualtion I don't think any AUv3 could support this.

    4.maximum sampling time?
    5.in built sampler?

    Up to memory

6.convert a stereo sample to mono left or right? Really handy when wanting to choose left/right of a stereo sample as some instruments in samples are panned left/right.This option is in Audioshare&Beatmaker3 -would be excellent if in Drambo

Who knows, its a kind of open project.

I gonna try to make it easy. e.g. keeping looping region length constant and jump to another pattern should do the job.

One important thing: its not a classic xox sequencer approach, rather parameter sequencer. If you select knob you see row of sliders. If you select waveshape you see a row of waveform selectors. The same with triggers. You select trig button on trigger module and then edit them in time. This way you can trigger every module separately.

Just testing this concept and im not sure its final yet

Its generic. There is no trigger , velocities or pitch in the sequencer. It shows nothing until you select a parameter / trigger control.

e.g. if I want to trigger sample I'm tapping on Trig button on sampler module, to select and start editing it in the sequencer. When I want to set pitch (play melody) im tapping on Pitch control and piano editor appears over steps.
There will be modules for triggering the whole rack as well.

So ... hmmm it seems like p-locks only sequencer. ;)

Ah, I thought you were saying that each module had its own individual sequencer track for trigs, that appeared when you hit 'trig'. Which would have been fun for probability etc per module/effect etc ;) And not only 'per step' like elektron. But I think I jumped the gun on that translation of your description ;)

Still sounds very cool in any case :) Really excited to check it out!

Each parameter and each action button of each module has its individual track, that you see when you tap on control. (trig is among them, the "trig" I was saying about is just a button on a module, that indeed has its own sequencer track)

Yes its kind of Elektron style. You can go beyond and smooth out transitions in many ways, just use "smooth modulator" module and p-lock its value parameter, or its slew rate.

I want to keep the right balance between simple / sophisticated. This must be instant and fun.
Drambo will be a generic sound design tool with focus on rhytm.

I gonna make a video, when I come back from holiday.

  • @giku_beepstreet intrigued by the concept of a "p locks only sequencer"! Are you considering a randomization feature?

Yes, besides of standard functionality, there are modules that represent specific tasks. e.g. Trigger randomizer module before sampler. They can be p-locked as well.

Fantastic. This is shaping up to be a whole lot of fun!

  • @giku_beepstreet

Is there any master rack sequencer view where you can copy and paste a step all its parameter locks? I would like that feature but not sure if it would work with the hyper-modular direction you're going. Also
curious if parameter sequences can have their own number of steps within a "rack" (I hope I am using the terminology correctly).

A few others have asked about an in-house sampler; do you think that will fit in to the structure you have going? I think its my biggest feature request, but this is such a huge project already I won't be surprised (or disappointed) if there isn't room for that feature. This thread already looks like the GrooveRider thread with all the requests and the app's not even out yet.

Looks like this keeps evolving and getting deeper. Very cool.
