  • I'm back and sit on Drambo immediately. In the meanwhile I rethinked some concepts. e.g. should sequencer be a module or not.

As about schedules. Don't listen to me. I always have problems with them. too emotional/chaotic, but this is my food. You should see my desk.

Should sequencer be a module? Not sure what this means

  • It will be interesting to see what the interface will be like in the end. Will the interface/controls be configurable?

Will I be able to set up a trigger pads & macro knobs/XY pad page or similar?

For now there is a master sequencer on top, that controls all modular racks. I thought it would be funny to have sequencers as a modules in the rack. Imagine sequencer clock or pattern number modulated by LFO or several sequencers in a row, one controlling another. This brings some UX problems that I'm working on.

Still working on this. The biggest problem as always is handling different window sizes (standalone / au etc..)
btw. this forum thread turned out to be quite helpful, when it comes to clearing up some issues.

Ok wow that would be so powerful seperate multi sequencers :-)

I wish I had a forum like this for digital products I create in my day job. It's like having an always available focus group to help answer questions.

  • btw. Sunrizer AU beta is available for testing. Drop me an email to info beepstreet.com if you want to hunt my bugs ;)

  • This is all good news. But, please make it as easy to use as it is deep to uncover. I know that this is not a simple request but I have an app that is sooo feature rich that I just cannot bring myself to work on it and that sucks. It's not all the apps fault admittedly ...

That sounds awesome! Modulate pattern length by LFO too?

  • Another question if I may. Is this along the lines of BM3, in terms of what it can do? Electribe-ish? The reason I ask is that I am quite fond of BeepStreet synths and can only imagine I will be as enthralled with Drambo. I don't want to spend my sweat and tears on BM3 only to have Drambo come out and find that it was a wasted effort. Silly question? May seem like it but I'm a guy with limited time on my hands. hehe

Thanks for any thoughts on what may be a tough question to answer.

I imagine using Drambo within Bm3 and leveraging both their strengths... I think.

I'd like a clock divider module, a sequential switch, a randomness module, and a tap plate interface.

From what I have been reading there is a BM3 update coming, I would wait to see how this update goes down. Also I heard the timing on BM3 isn't great. That is a deal breaker for me.

Yes Drambo will be audio music effect as well. You can process and generate MIDI events, use many sequencers, modulated and differently clocked :)

Will it have sample accurate timing? Or will latency be introduced as the modules are added?

Yes. If you experience timing problem, most probably its the host. Many iOS hosts round MIDI event time position to the beginning of the frame. No idea why, this sucks.

So the sequencers/lfos etc can send to other AU? If so this is gonna be huge. Will be a gamechanger to have all of this inside one UI to sequence/modulate multiple other AU (and internal Drambo sounds) and switch patterns across everything simultaneously. Current workarounds for this kind of thing are so long winded and clunky that I've just avoided it. Hyped :)

Yes DRambo will be what you want it to be: AU instrument, effect or music processor. Its just a modular rack with generators, filters, effects, sequencers etc.. Easy or difficult, your choice ;)

@giku_beepstreet Not pressing at all, but if you could release it already it would be great for my upcoming vacations 😜
Long time since I’ve been anticipating an app for so long, but as a world class finger drummer (ahem) I’m a long time fan, and you promised some impaktor action in there that makes it an instabuy from me (and I’ve been really working on my appaholism)
No one will blame you for the inevitable bugs🙏

Friday check in.... When is giku_beepstreet back from his holiday? :)

Shhhh, he's back, working on d-rambo

  • @Dawdles said:
Also just remembered you mentioning it might be on the cards to port the Mutable Instruments open source modules at some point in future.....That would be game over ;)

Would be awesome to have the Grids sequencer driving Drambo.

aahhhhhhh! is that why the midi slowly drifts out of sync over time? That is an absolute killer for live playing.
