I feel you’re overreacting.
There’s a wiki page with videos and other info on the app. I don’t have the link but related thread is floating near the top of the forum atm.
A ha. Just learned something. It’s not kid’s but kid gloves!
To handle or treat something with kid gloves is to do so with special consideration or in a tactful manner, often due to a perceived sensitivity. Kid gloves are simply gloves made from kid leather—in other words, the skin from a young goat.
Oh, don't mind me - I'm just screwing around. The troll was a reference to myself asking obviously stupid questions that have been asked 1,000 times in this thread already.
I check this thread EVERY DAY just like most of you peeps. Just trying to keep the conversation light so we don't get so antsy waiting for Drambo to save the day.
Go about your business - nothing to see here!
...and all of this due to the time this app had public exposure.
Question is : would you have liked knowing about this work in -progress since its development debut Or three days before the official release with clear info/manual attached?
Let’s see how ethics work ?
Pretty sure we already had this discussion 20-50 pages ago.

Very elegant
👍🏻 Ah cool sorry
Ethics? What do ethics have to do with it?
The conversation here as I understand it has influenced development in a good way.
I frankly think that people that are annoyed by this thread should just ignore it.
Believe me, it's worth the wait.
What non-beta-testers are naturally missing is not only the excitement of being able to work with the app but also a lot of back and forth between the beta testers and @giku_beepstreet in regards of bug fixes, architectural improvements, discussions about feature requests and some patch sharing as well.
Making sure that > 120 modules are all working well together in an endless amount of possible combinations is a really time-consuming task.
And while writing descriptive text snippets for each included module, I'm finding even more things to consider, change or fix.
I know that the endless waiting challenges people's patience but please consider that the code for VCV rack and its great modules, for example, was written by quite a number of people while Drambo is rather the unbelievable effort of an exceptional individual.
I've just finished designing two modelled (acoustic) snare drum patches. And I've never before been as satisfied with my attempts as I am with Drambo now.
To me, it's an overall more powerful, modern successor to the Nord Modular series that still manages to keep the fun of designing patches (and greatly enhances the experience).
There better be one massive 🎲 to press...
+many
And when you've rolled the sum of zero, release day has arrived 😅
I think everyone understands that, but it doesn’t make waiting any easier because so much of the process has been public. For me, it’s aggravating to know that there is an app that would fill several gaping holes on the iOS platform with no idea of when it will be released. And then to see it in action by beta testers doing the exact things I want to do with it that I can’t currently without convoluted workarounds or Rube Goldberg-type App-aratuses just rubs salt in the wound.
I don’t blame @giku_beepstreet and I don’t think he did it this way on purpose, but it reminds me of when Elektron used to tease things so far in advance that the inevitable backlash soured the release of products. As opposed to saying, ”We/I made this completely awesome thing. Want it? Here you go. You can buy it right now.“
Waiting sucks. Drambo will be amazing when it drops, but I should probably sit this thread out until it does. Encouragement from beta testers is cold comfort. No offense!
🙏
I’m still pretty amazed that people can get so bent out of shape knowing an app is being worked on but not ready. No matter if it’s been reworked, rebuilt, changed, etc. Its never been released so nobody is missing anything. It’s not like it was released and said “it will do all this stuff” and then it didn’t do any of that stuff. I could see where that would be a normal grievance. But the complaining about this situation and even this thread in general makes no sense to me. Nobody has been hostile about anything other than the people that complain about the existence of the thread and it’s simple continuance annoying them for some reason. Somebody a few pages back was amazed the thread hadn’t been shutdown. Like....why would it need to be?
No one has been harmed by the making and continuance of this thread.
This thread is harmless.
I’m just stoked to know it’s being worked on and tested constantly. That seems like a great thing to be going on. Knowing that is going on and it hasn’t been released makes me feel glad it’s still being tested. It means...it’s not ready
i’m not mad, i just want it 🤣 i’m getting older by the minute and want to drambo as much as i can before i’m rip
@papertiger Yes indeed, I don't know if it's a good idea to announce such a big project early.
But then I guess that nobody would have expected how much Drambo has now evolved from the initial prototype and its description.
In April 2018, Synth Anatomy wrote (excerpt from https://www.synthanatomy.com/2018/04/beepstreet-developing-new-modular-drum-synth-drambo-ios.html):
From today's view, comparing the synthesis engine with Elastic Drums would be plain ridiculous 😂
I thought that shutdown comment was very strange as well. Don’t like it, don’t click on the thread!
But...What difference does it make? Nobody is entitled to anything. It’s the same as if it didn’t exist at all. If it does make a difference for some reason, isn’t knowing that it does exist and is being actively developed a nice thing as well?
I just cannot see how this thread was constructive for Drambo’s shape...because I’m sure Giku had direct ongoing correspondence and feedback from his alleged testers and spokesmen in the first place. In the recent days something more considerate happen... the wiki stash! That is a good direction towards everyone!> @espiegel123 said:
But how was/is it destructive? How are we worse off?
Agreed.
Also, people don’t need to voic> @Sergiu said:
If you have been following the conversations, you will have seen non-beta team members make comments that Giku took to heart. Really, if this threads existence bothers you, just don’t read it.
Nothing destructive to the app itself, but when you allow privileged persons to play around with release date, technical features...all these mixed messages or partial information, the whole professional ethics has to suffer ( at least in my eyes ). yes, i am new to the forum and I might not have the complete sense of dynamics in here. Did Rozeta bundle have same approach from the developer and the forum? Because I think Rozeta had as much interest as Drambo > @drez said:
Maybe someone could post more demos about the sound. More Audio examples or it did not happen
The sound is in your hands. It's not like you buy yet another app, skip through the presets for a while and buy the next one.
The whole idea is to build your own synths and effects and use and sequence them either inside the app or in the host environment of your choice.
You like Shockwave but you want a polyphonic version of it?
Go ahead, you'll be able to build it in Drambo.
Will Drambo help you building it?
Well, it will provide the tools to do it, but without a fair amount of knowledge about what kind of synthesis it's based on and what makes it sound great, you might quickly become disappointed.
That's why I said that now could be a good time to get familiar with the subject if you aren't already.
One if the many available resources can be found here, for example:
http://www.cim.mcgill.ca/~clark/nordmodularbook/nordmodularbook.pdf
Another resource, maybe even better for a start, can be found here:
https://medias.audiofanzine.com/files/guide-wizoo-pour-nord-modular-476982.pdf
They're about the old Nord Modular systems but the theory behind it is exactly the same for all modular synths.
There is another thread with videos now. Not a mega thread yet.
Thank‘s. Yes i know. I work with modulars and really like that it can be as simple or complex as you want. But still in the meantime i just would love to see/hear some longer videos about some sound designs with it. Also each modular is and sounds different even if you do the same things.
But of course a release would be even better
Yes, thank you. I saw them all and even read the whole Drumbo thread. The hype is still real.
I am enjoying the wait as it spurred me to return to Impaktor for some fun. What a gem!
I am not enjoying the discourse in this thread but easy enough to scan for videos from @giku_beepstreet and @bcrichards and @Shiro !
Working on presets now and you asked for sound examples of this drum machine
Stereo supersaw (improved sunrizer version), triangle sub, envelope, 24db lpf, a shaper (hq, bandlimited dsp) and chorus. Voice number module to spread filter peaks in OB style
Thank you. Yeah, it sounds really nice and juicy.
And „drum machine“ is definitely an understatement;)
Dagger filters maybe in the future
