Looking very interesting - out of interest will it have Elektron style nth note triggers? I can see the probability options which is okay (personally I think randomness is over-rated as a musical thing).

However triggering every nth (i.e 4th or 3rd) iteration of a note cycle would be brilliant especially if that propagates to midi out and other parameter locks type things.

To be honest it will be more like Op-z style. Each step may have a chain of components. Its like a small programming language. e.g. "Every 4th iteration" -> "Play note" -> "Jump to step 10". Modularity opens up new possibilities e.g. there is a Trigger counter module that can modulate other parameters or a "Smoother module" that smooths other parameter changes.

    When will it drop? :open_mouth:

I shouldn't say anything anymore on release date ;) As you see development is quite advanced

Oh yeah! This will be one of the first Bleepbloop-creating Apps I‘ll buy without thinking. And a long long time ago I moved to Ableton. :)
This right here gets me excited.
Will it take external Midi so I could hook it up to a Mac?

Still thinking on standalone version. For now its AU, yes it receives and generates MIDI.

  • Oh no! I really don’t want to buy AUM to get my Midi-needs served. :(
I honestly believe a Stand-alone-Version would be the most practical for sounddesign.
Want to sketch an idea down to get a special zschzschwubzschbzzzz sound? Just start it up and noodle around. And it would probably be a bit less taxing on CPU.
Is it more complicated to make a standalone out of it?

Excellent move :) Elektron sequencer is in some ways starting to feel a little old in the tooth lately. Drambo looks like its coming out the gates pretty damn strong :) Recently been interested in op-z, deluge and the Five12 vector sequencers and drambo seems like its at a similar level of depth and functions in many ways, if not more so. Excited!

Deluge is great! Completely new experience ..

No its not. Im testing on standalone version :)

  • @giku_beepstreet Will Drambo have any 'step sequencer' that can be used as a modulation source?

A quick 'brain sketch' of such a step sequencer would be that at maximum speed each steps duration would equal the 'buffer size' at which the audio is calculated.(In SunVox terms this would be that a value is changed each internal 'tick').

This 'step sequencer' could serve dual purpose, a 'Custom LFO Wave' (when running at fastish speeds) and a slow 'step sequencer'. Interpolation could be optional and work as a 'sample rate & bit-depth' reducer.

Output values could be 'quantised' based on the destination (this could also be a 'vertical value quantise grid') so for pitch it could be semi-tones as an example and for other parameters a 'value range'.

Since we don't know any details the 'wish list' starts to grow even before the app is out ;)

  • Oh damn, I‘m so going to throw money at you!
    Sooo. Tomorrow I guess?
Keep up the great work and take your time!

Yes sequencer automates any parameter. You just tap on parameter and draw its automation.

Ah man, I want one.... been on/off gassing for it since it was announced!

I maniacally buy and sell audio stuff to try everything out (have some fun, get inspired and steal best ideas ;) To be honest I get bored quickly with most of them. Deluge was this big wow moment i've been waiting since a longer time. No other groovebox comes close. This paired with ipad = ultimate portable everything :)

A small session with Deluge and a physical modelling synth

  • Hoping you come back to the idea of a stand-alone Drambo which can also host. I would pay premium to use this sequencer with internally hosted plugins. Either way, you’ve got a black check from me. It’s taken enough of your time so I hope you price it accordingly.

    Amazing! Can't wait to try...

    Good man !

  • This is looking like a fun little instrument. Can’t wait to use it to sequence soft synths and gear 😬

Excited for this also, but feel the midi learn memory issue in zeeon should be fixed before this new app drops. How could I buy new when there remains an issue with the old?

dude, cut the man some slack. he's just one person. He has said he will get to a zeeon update once drambo drops. Beepstreet has always been good about updating apps. these things take time.

if you use zeeon in a host like AUM or AM, you can reliably map midi with the host's midi map list. works perfectly.

Yeah, it works perfectly until you want to use the second layer. Then everything falls apart:

    https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/24051/zeeon-using-midi-ccs-to-control-layers-separately

Don‘t get me wrong, I love Zeoon and use it regularly. But the midi implementation is half baked, at best, and an update is nowhere near in sight. Drambo (hate the name, btw) is looking very promising, but hoo boy, it seems like a huge project for a single developer. I‘m expecting @giku_beepstreet spending all his time finishing Drambo first, and when it’s out in the open, squashing bugs he couldn’t foresee for a while. But how can I trust him to do that when his old app has had known bugs for years?

I can't wait to hear what you think - I like my BopPad very much, but I haven't really dug into the programming of it since there's not yet a way to do it directly from the iPad.

I reckon a bop pad templates sharing is an unavoidable solution to our problem. Hope @giku_beepstreet will contribute to once he's got his. I will sure give it my best shot. :)

What apps have you been using it with?

You think they will make a iOS editor? I wonder if streambyter can help maybe?
