  • Keeps crashing AUM for me if i try to sequence it with GrooveRider....even after clean install :/

@Kühl I was a bit confused by your screenshots (lots of thanks for them!!!) and finally managed to do the following:

A regular Audio track with a IAA Synth:

And then send from a MIDI track over Virtual MIDI to exactly this Synth:

    Great stuff :)

But for AUs, this will not work.
Maybe with some AudioBus or AUM magic....

Anyway, good to know that there are other ways than freezing tracks!

    Thanks a bunch

    No problem.

    Ingen Problem :)

So why do we need this patience testing freeze function?

To save CPU if multiple instances are needed.

Freezing Poseidon works quite well in the Cubasis 'Compatibility' mode which is a bit faster than the 'Real Time' option.

The other Virsyn apps freeze flawlessly so I suspect we'll see an update to Poseidon soonish.

I’ve tried many times to freeze tracks with iSymphonic, and I can’t get it done.
The movement is about 12 minutes long... so perhaps it’s my patience. But it goes on freezing after the meter is full, and it never stops... I’ve had to record my midi files live in cubasis.

Could be a Cubasis bug as well? Don't know where it stores the file while it renders.
    (We're talking about a 'temporary' files >120MB).

Don't know if @LFS and his team has any reports of freeze / rendering failing on longer tracks?
Most of the time I use freeze to create 4-16 bar snippets that I can load to audio-tracks later.

It would be neat if Cubasis had a 'Clip Shelf' with quick drag'n'drop access to all audio-files within a session.
So instead of saving to 'Media Bay' one could save the audio/midi events to a 'Clip Shelf' for the session.
(Something similar to how Apple Loops is handled in GarageBand).

This would mage file-managing a but smoother :)

It could be a bug, and I suspect iSymphonic to be quite buggy, more do than cubasis.
At least I’m used to live recordings in Pro Tools, so I’m ok.

My project was to play all voices in the second movement of Mahlers 5th Symphony, the Adagietto.
It’s a very ambient zen inspired theme... I’m finished with it, and it’s pretty good.
I arranged everything in five tracks, where I play the model 15 as lead voice
I’m just not competent enough to share the track yet, as I have no knowledge of how to do it, hehe!

  • I came across something a while back about the addition of user waveforms in a future update. Any word on this?

The sale lured me in. What a wonderful sounding synth.. After spending a few hours with it, I'm already wishing I could drop waveforms in (in a way that isn't as complicated as say Nave or Animoog!)

Yep, you can bring in your own samples and they get analyzed.

And it's super easy too, just tap the + and pick a file from AudioShare :)

Ooh I’d forgotten about that, that’s tonight’s entertainment sorted

  • Keeps crashing AUM for me too when I put it in the background I think

  • Awesome though. Hope we get fullscreen AUv3 and animated waveform option like the standalone app sometime in the future.

  • And here’s 100 free single cycle waveforms from the nice people at electronisounds

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/45mqlln7exp3xks/DeansSingleCycles.zip?dl=0

  • Is this the one that sounds like dolphins? I dunno, I shelved VirSyn stuff a while back. Good intentions, pretty good quality, but I never got along with any of it.

Stria always sounded like that to me, and it’s other setting - ‘squeaky balloon’.

Poseidon’s a good synth. Bit tinny sounding like most of the Virsyn’s, but very usable.

I’m happy with it, and will probably use it more since I’ve been reminded of the sample import.

oh wow, thanks! This is some very exciting news.

  • With the latest Poseidon update track freezing in Cubasis works without any issues or work-arounds :)

  • Yeah sounds great too!

  • It really depends on what preset your playing. I tweaked a couple and the sound was massive! It’s pretty neat. I actually got some really nice presets from the randomizer.
