    Basically it’s the lazy way to take trance pads and make them sound like 16th notes with the duration of 32nd notes. It’s also the lazy way to take a 16th note trance arp and shorten the length of the notes to 32nd notes. It’s a type of repetative volume automation trick usually used over the cheesiest type of supersaw patches.

    Skip to 55 seconds in. There’s your stereotypical cheesy supersaw lead with trance gate laid overtop, followed by delay and reverb effects (and possibly EQ to shave off the low end to fit it in the mix). Oddly, I’ve loved this particular remix of Equinoxe IV for years and still do, but you can’t say the lead isn’t cheesy nor lazily programmed. :lol:

    A completely blinkered view of what a trance gate or step gate can do, and there is nothing lazy about it, or do you repeat all your audio by hand to create delays too ?

    I put a Gatemask editor in Tuareg back in 2001. To my knowledge that was the first software implementation to help create the "trancegate" effect (that was around the time trance became the mainstream genre du jour but until then the effect was mostly heard in German hardtech and rave tracks). :D B)

    Or you’re just as hungry as me to find out what this plugin is too. ;) I use Twitter for fuckall as well, unless it’s voting for The Voice (the rare times I bother to watch it that is), or something actually practical like this.
