  • Reason pretty solid and good on CPU. Been some low deals on the full version recently. Got it for less than $100 as I had the limited version.

  • Yep. Modular synthesis playground. I have only dabbled with VCVRack and Reaper on Windows. I think that combination with the iPad will keep me busy for years.

  • Don't forget FL studio . Touch friendly ,although I never understood the routing and mixer

  • Also take a look at Waveform 9. You can download and use Tracktion 6 for free - that’s a steal. It’s non-traditional and totally “clicked” for me as being really intuitive (for me).

  • I second the Push 2 + Ableton Suite recommendation. I also use Reason 10, rewired into ableton, controlling Reason with the Push 2 via ReTouchControl Pusher2 script.

Synths, samplers & effects I use & highly recommend are: Komplete 11 Standard, Arturia V-collection, Serum, Sylenth1 + the incredible Eventide Ensemble effects suite ... Also use iOS instruments & effects in the desktop daws via iConnectMidi4+ ..

Runs like a champ on my Windows 10, 3770k desktop.

  • Stagelight is pretty good for use on win10 tablets.

    Synths/Samplers -
    U-he Repro 5
    Diva
    The Legend
    Serum
    Kontakt
    Roland Plugouts

Recently picked up the Synapse Audio Reason rack collection w/ The Legend & absolutely love that synth. Didn't really need anymore Model D emulations, as I already had Monark and MiniV3 VST, plus Moog Model D on iPad but it easily tops them all imho -- one of the most analog sounding synths I've used. Plus it's a nice bonus that they throw in a free VST version of the synth if you e-mail them with proof of purchase of the reason rack version.

Waveform even runs on Raspberry Pi, if you want to get adventurous you could always try Usine.

  • I like ableton very much, but i dont like desktop so much

    VCVRack

That seems to be a synthesizer, or?
I thought about something with MIDI tracks and so on, like Cubasis.

That remembers me of Cubase, going to check if this existis for Windows.

There is a large number of free sequencing modules abailable for VCVrack now, so I'd say it's a valid (albeit unconventional) suggestion. Just a very different approach compared to mainstream DAWs.

Cakewalk is free since its acquisition by Bandlab, should be worth investigating:

  • Abletons top version is amazing just for max4live. It pretty much turns it into a different daw entirely. Combining ableton + VCVRack + Reaktor.... You basically never need anything else again. It's actually the main reason I've started using iOS less and less. You should grab it during sales. I actually got suite for 529 USD. Which was 448 Eur.

Cakewalk Sonar Platinum (now Cakewalk by Bandlab (CbB) has been my main DAW for a long time and I wholeheartedly recommend it. I also have Reaper, Studio One Pro, Cubase Elements, Samplitude X3 Suite and Tracktion but I still go to Sonar first.

All of those DAWs have their strengths and weaknesses but I just like the way that CbB (Sonar) works.
It also includes some great plugins for free. You might find this list useful...

  • I have Presonus Studio One and I love it. You can get the professional version for around $150-200 second hand. Presonus will stream a live event on YouTube in 2 days, they could be announcing Studio One v4.

Though, it’s hard to beat Sonar’s new price. Best try that one first and if the workflow fits you, you’ll get a full featured DAW for free.

  • What kinda app is this WINDOWS 10?
