I think I heard about it on reddit as well.
I can't remember now. It was in the summer of 2013, that's all I know. It might have involved a man in a trenchcoat, a secret handshake, a coded message and a cuckoo-clock. Yes, definitely something like that.
It was all very hush-hush...
It was in a youtube video by some young upstart showing off his keyboard skills on something ...

I think the channel was something like the round pest room or something like that, I think the dudes name was Doug
Same. Not sure how I heard about Audiobus though. Loopy forum? Palm sounds? Discchord?
Any suggestions for other iOS specific music forums worth checking out?
I found it through a developer posting, before it even existed. I was directed to their beginning webpage where I could enter my email address and get news about the upcoming product. From there, it was a matter of time until things were released.
This ^^
And our records would show us being members for much longer, but there was a forum glitch years ago that required us to join again.
In short, I've been here since the beginning, just like @Hmtx
A friend had told me about the app, and while checking it out I saw they had a forum. I like forums. I signed up.
Doug.
Noticed a lot of new posts from new folks at the forum, welcome!
First heard about it thru Doug, The Sound Test Room.
After getting a few apps, I thought some sort of pipe is needed, so I went searching for AudioPipe
This was several months before the release as well, so I’m also one of the first batch.
It might have been Doug at The Sound Test Room or Tim at discchord.com. Maybe both.
