  • You guys prove that altruism is alive and well.

  • A really great and amazing project!
Love the idea behind this synth! Congratulations to all who are/was involved in! 👍👍👍

  • Great video about an inspiring project!

This thread (and all threads about AK Synth One) really need a link to buy the T-shirt...

  • Great story! Can't wait to check it out

  • Very inspiring story, but ouch, total re-write for iOS 11? Are you going to have to do that every year?

    @analog_matt
Congrats! The app seems to be designed for it to be an AU but did not see the feature listed on your page.
Is AU in Synth One road-mapped for a later date?

  • Great to see it's still possible to develop free quality products by enthusiastic people. Thanks a lot!

Yes. The official web page has more features (MPE, AUv3) listed than the CDM article:

  • Well done! Really eager to play with it ^_^

  • Amazing!! This is so beautiful and the idea of reaching all the children that is so noble!

Kids are all stuck on yoville and fakebook that they have no time to learn music. This would be such a huge blessing for future musicians and all musicians!

Wishing total success and continued blessings!

Haha! Great question. That part of the video was a bit dramatic. There were some issues with iOS 11. However, the bigger issue was that there were some leftover architecture decisions that needed to be addressed. It seemed like a good time to recode it if we wanted the code to be a valid teaching and learning tool. 👍🏼I mean, I still can't promise that the code is "good". But, it's better than before. 👨🏻‍💻

    You Rock! 🙏

  • Great story of building a great community synth which will conquer the iOS scene quick. Thanks for all the efforts.

Big love and warm regards, Frenq

Wish AU version was in this release, @analog_matt very inspiring story, nuff love to your whole team which made this possible.

  • Sure is inspiring! The Swift version might have been easier to learn, but this pro version sounds like a perfectionist’s dream. Really glad MPE and AU support are both coming. But also glad you’re not waiting for those to release the synth. We want to play with this soon.
You mention microtuning à la Wilsonic and one display might be related to that. Quite intrigued by this, as we wait for Gestrument Pro and SynthMaster One. Apart from ThumbJam, there aren’t that many iOS synths which support microtuning.
Also curious about the file format for patches. Given the Open Source nature of the project, it sounds like it might make sense to repurpose the patches for other softsynths, even when the results don’t sound the same.
My obvious feature request would be support for wavetables. It’s probably quite complicated and it’d take a while for me to get enough C++ chops to make that happen. But it could open up interesting possibilities.

At any rate, thanks a lot @analog_matt for all your work in the community (including the interviews and the sheer enthusiasm). We’re lucky to have you with us! It’s because of interactions with devs like you that iOS musicking is what it is. (There should be prizes for our most valuable members. @brambos might need to win the first award for the rate at which he pushes things forward. But your contributions are also up there!)

  • F/OSSynth for the MFing win! Way to go Matt and the 100.

  • @analog_matt wow what a great story. Well done!

  • Looking forward to playing with it. This could be a good one for the forum preset making events.
