Ehmm, actually if people would just kept their iOS devices up-to-date the 'iTunes Thingie' could be just a folder in Files.app and isn't Files.app support the proper way to handle import & export of files anyway, at least until we know what WWDC'18 will bring
Files.app support is still quite flaky if you use the heralded “no code needed!!1” approach. More often than not you’ll have random documents auto-opening the wrong apps all the time. So it needs a bit more than just that one checkbox in XCode
That I consider to be an iOS 'bug' since it doesn't have a proper way (UI) to assign file-types/extensions to apps...
(In the 'show info' dialogue on macOS you can at least select which app will open the file-typ and set it globally).
I seldom 'open/launch' files from the Files.app...
No, but I received quite a few complaints/reports of weird graphics formats triggering Phasemaker or Ripplemaker to open automatically, even though they were not assigned to those formats. So many in fact that I disabled Files access for my apps until the Files app gets a much needed fix
I just did a search on DRC. Five of the top six are from 2017:

Drc is so amazing that I purchased it for my PC as well. That being said. I wish someone would go and make a deep sound design tutorial ...
Ouch, hope Apple is or has been made 'aware' of this?
I mean Files.app should have settings for file-type/extension assignments or did Apple somehow 'forget' what they have been doing for the last 10 years with the Finder?
Oh well, let's hope WWDC'18 and iOS12 brings some major improvements in this area...
Po.
I’m going to have a t-shirt saying:
I use AU, IAA & standalone.
I win.
screen size is the only issue with me. i wish cubasis would go full size. until its universal, new apps like patterning 2 will probably only work standalone. as is the case with a lot of class apps from a few years back.
hopefully it will be one step back, two steps forward and drop the letterbox
i definitely like opening up a host and having my project all setup.
Totally agree. We also need common AU full screen standard so developers can focus on one approach.
Yes, my Ipad AIR will stay on 10.3.3 because Alchemy.
Also, I wish I could forever keep ios11 from downloading all the time. So afraid I will install by accident. Taking offline is not practical at this time. Next machine will stay current.
I’ve kept my iPad 1st gen where a pile of great deprecated software lives including Alchemy. I can’t get all my packs on there that I had until 11, partly because some won’t run on iOS 5. What’s amazing is there are so many stable music apps that happen to be as great as current stuff, and a lot of current stuff is actually very stable on 5...
One cool thing on 5 is AudioShare w/ACP: the old version of AudioShare (like the old ACP app) exposes the full list of clips copied to the clipboard, where they can be grouped, zipped and sent off....which is cool for something like iSequence, whose ACP is broken on 11, but smooth on 5.
I have all kinda fetishes Max
Me too, and sounds like I’d fit in on gearslutz at least as far as the old tech thing...
DRC has a character all its own among the VAs, and that’s enough to go a long way with me, since it obviously sounds great and is bug-free. One of the few synths with onboard effects that I use. In fact, other than Zeeon’s chorus, maybe the only.
Plus, it excels at strings. And it has a nice simple gui that I like that belies the fact it’s VA.
I used to spend lots of time @ GS. Historically, it's still a good source of info on gear you might be thinking about purchasing. As far as a hang, I don't get the feeling that they really like each other all that much. After a couple decades of forum participation, that matters. I think about a forum's regulars, and ask "Would I enjoy having a beer with folks here?"
I’ve heard that about GS, never visited. I’ve got an interest in old school/deprecated stuff but it’s more software than actual stuff...
I do check KVR daily. It gets noisy there with bickering sometimes, but those guys know their software. Or think they do.
Yep, KVR. Dig it for coverage of free, and out-of-date soft. Has also led me to spend a bit on new things here and there, (nowhere near as much as this place has cost me...)
Yo, I WANT MY CUT FOR PIONEERING THE TERM "AU SNOB"!!
And I'm not fvcking playing. I see you at the screen-printers @brambos Hahahaaaaa
Also... LOL at the OP totally changing the thread. LMAO. I'm here about to give another 2c on DRC and then looked at my browser title bar like "wait, wtf?"
2 many lttrs, jus ‘Snaub’ 4me, yo formulz
Yeah.. we got Rickrolled
I thought " AU Elitists" that someone came up with on the Patterning 2 thread was pretty funny
I still like iaa for a lot of things, especially when using a Bluetooth midi like seaboard, the aus get all weird even if I cut the routing off inside cubasis...
Like for example layr will just start to create patterns in the sequencer while I'm jamming out in volt on the seaboard
