I see SPA as an advanced version of rozeta arpeggiator. I dont use it as much as i should because i still use (and love) xynthesizr as a sequencer despite no au capabilities. But when i do use spa i get enamored and thoroughly enjoy it.

I'm hoping that xynthesizr gets some update. But, it's still great. I am now completely blotto about SPA and I can already see it changing the way I work, or severely supplementing the way I work. Too soon to tell as I have had my thinking revolutionized by the possibilities on ion so many times in the past few months. Brilliant time to be a musician. wow

i highly doubt Yuri will update it again. as long as it stays in the store ill be pleased. its a wonderful sequencer.

Too bad, it's a good one.

  • SPA vs Quantum sequencer ??? i dont have either and im on the fence, which way should i go

Different apps altogether and both have a place in ones workflow..

Having fun using SPA to drive KEW:

    dope!

  • ahh that thing! gotcha thanks

SPA’s rad but would definitely benefit from being able to input sequencer/arp notes via keyboard (onscreen and midi). And/or a fullscreen full scale piano roll. It can often be kinda slow/fiddly the way it is atm. Not a dealbreaker though....

This whole time I thought you could input notes with a keyboard. I was actually thinking of picking this up until now lol

Honestly, it's not that big of a thing. The interface is not fiddly and the "cells" are big enough for my normal sized fingers to accurately select.

The double finger gestures (squeeze) works fine for magnifying those cells too..

  • can one instance of SPA control multiple synths, but run different patterns to each synth ?? or do you have to run an AU for each channel/synth to push different patterns/sequences out to multiple places ...if that makes sense lol

  • it would be nice to control everything from one place, instead of bouncing around from au to au....thts why im interested

  • edited September 2018

You can route each lane in the sequencer to individual Midi Channels/synths if that's what you mean. But it's just firing one note per lane...So...you can play a specific note per midi channel/synth if you so desire.

It's what I do. I have 8 synths running at any given time from a single instance of SPA

    perfect!

  • Idk if it’s been said before but this app reminds me of what the Synthstrom Deluge does

Here’s a single instance of SPA sequencing Electribe Wave over 4 Patterns recorded live and modulated in AUM..

Wow, Bro!!! This is brilliant! Makes me want to have KEW. But I know I wouldn’t be able to get there... so I skip! I may need to dig in SPA deeper first! Love this track/jam

  • Thanks for giving it a listen. To be honest i was really surprised with what KEW was able to output on this track. SPA is a delightful app to jam with.

  • Sweet!
