This app is very fun. Thank you @CIT_Audio .
@ExAsperis99
Cool! Glad you like it
That's a good point .. maybe it should be the old Red Stop Square rather than a Pause icon
@thepinkelefant
Thanks! Cool ideas, I guess I look at the 5 green User preset buttons as where that sort of customization might happen for now..
@Jumpercollins
Thanks for the link! Pretty cool plug-in .. Looks like Streemur can do some of that if running in AUM with audio bussed into Audioshare for instance..
This looks useful
Any chance of midi cc control of the pads?
And being able to change all of the pad presets would be ideal.
@CIT_Audio
Could it instead be made into a start/stop or pause/play action? Seems like you can pause/play the streams via the browser load.
I’m confused about pausing a live stream. If I am listening to a livestream from a College radio station, usually I can’t pause it, or at least don’t know how to. Wouldn’t it need to store a bunch of the audio in a buffer or something until you resumed playback?
I’m out and about or I’d check. Seems I could I could do that on some of the streams. Will check when I get home.
Although, the more I think about it, the more I wonder how useful it’d really be. Coding time might be better spent on some other new feature.
Ok, I admit I love College radio stations.
This new app has me looking all over the web for streaming internet radio stations. I find a lot of streaming music services (not what I want), and internet radio players that provide an interface to many stations, but finding the streaming links to use in Streemur can be a chore.
Then I came across Good Radio. It is a web interface that links to a whole bunch of great college, public, community, and pirate stations. They have a iPad app that plays in the background, too. I have been using this to discover so many awesome radio stations, and I will probably stop relying on YouTube to discover new music.
So now the best part...
You can find the streaming link very easily on the web interface. I listen and find a good station in the app, then pop over to the website to grab the streaming URL if I want to add it to Streemur.

So I found this cool station called DRONE on SomaFM.

I go to the website and hit the database button.

I use the quick jump to quickly find my station DRONE.

On the entry for DRONE, I press and hold the tiny gear icon until the menu appears.

Select Copy from the menu.
In Streemur, open a user preset slot, paste the URL, hit save, hit done. Press your preset play button and enjoy!

Brilliant..........thanks for this
No problemo. The Good Radio app is free too.
Thanks @CracklePot !
You are most welcome @TheVimFuego
@Kühl
That's really cool! I Moodscaper was one I used a lot when I was testing it out.
Xynthesizr and Patterning are others . I paired it it Figure quite a bit to get something going quickly as well ..
Any of the great AUv3 delay and reverb effects work really well with Streemur.
Kosmonaut has a looper I wasn't aware of at first that is lot of fun to use with Streemur well .

@Carnbot Thanks!
Not sure I could work in MIDI cc, but will take a look. I can see how it would be nice to be able to trigger the Pads though.

Well spotted, Mr Pot.
All I need to do now, is find a working address for Dark Matter Radio. Frustratingly, I had this and pasted it into Ström. Now, while able to play that, and bring up the relevant tab, the app will not let me select what’s in there to copy out. Doh!
Yes thanks @CracklePot !
Great tip on grabbing a station link using iPad
Another way to find streaming URL's involves going into "Developer" Mode using Safari ( I've only used the Desktop version on macOS and not sure if it can be done on Mobile Safari ) .
Find a website streaming something interesting then:
Safari->Preferences-->Advanced-> "Show Develop Menu in menu bar"
then
Develop->Show Web Inspector
and have a look in the "Network tab" .
The URL can sometimes be seen in there and can then be copied
I had a blast playing with this tonight. As somebody else said, I have already gotten my money's worth. Fun stuff!
I’ve spent a happy 40 minutes grooving along to a mangled version of BBC Radio Kent + Patterning + Refraktions + Perforator(s) + Kosmonaut(s) all hosted in AUM synced with Link.
‘Tis a good time to be alive ... Wise peeps say you’ve found your flow state when time disappears and you’re just absorbed in the moment, very much the case here.
My only question: Does the viability of Streemur depend on a human curator to keep it running?
@ExAsperis99
As long as IAA is still a thing going forward it should still work even If I were to shuffle off this mortal coil! That is true for the core functionality of the App itself and the 5 user preset pads.
The 50 other pads are setup so if a station goes dark for whatever reason ... I could fix them without having to resubmit the App for an update. Most of them seem pretty solid though.
@Crawlingwind
Glad you are enjoying it!
my beloved app, thanks!
It's good fun.
Yeah having the option to rename and label all pads would be useful so you can be a bit more confident of the type of audio it will produce when selecting, random is good, but other times you want to have a bit more control. That and being able to curate the whole set yourself.
@foxal
Glad you are liking it !
@Carnbot
Thanks! It was a bit of challenge to make the UI fit and make sense on the smallest of iOS screens up to the iPad Pro's gigantic display. As a result the design is a little 'baked in '. I was testing it on an iPhone 5c as the smallest old device I had access to up to an iPad Pro 9.7" ..At one point I did try putting text on the pads.. it became harder to make it look presentable on all devices.
P it became harder to make it look presentable on all devices.

Which is where an iPad optimised version would work well. If such a thing is economically viable.
FWIW, I would happily buy an IAP that included station labels, and if possible on/off timers for stations plus a shuffle mode.
