P it became harder to make it look presentable on all devices.

Which is where an iPad optimised version would work well. If such a thing is economically viable. :)

FWIW, I would happily buy an IAP that included station labels, and if possible on/off timers for stations plus a shuffle mode.

    @Zen210507

Not sure what I can deliver honestly, but a shuffle or a random button is a cool idea!

  • Hey,

Really enjoying playing about with this. I have a few questions. What makes a stream tick in Streemur? Some stuff streams on URL and some things don't. I don't tend to stream radio but this has opened up a new world. The stuff from goodradio.org all seems to work but tunein (for example) doesn't. It would be really nice to see a place where people could share their URL's.

That aside I'm really looking forward to using this in my work. I'd like to see a few more user presets. Perhaps ten at the top rather than the five green pads. Also, labelling would be great (or better still adding your own image).

Fabulous work though and it is nice to see someone giving the iOS world something a bit different.

    Hi @boyciesdog

Glad you are enjoying it! I've found the most stable streams use the .mp3 codec sent over http. So if you find a stream in that format:

    http://www****.mp3

.. those are generally pretty reliable.
Other codecs like AAC and OGG may work as well.. It'll depend on how the station is sending the streams out.

Sorry to dig this up again, but am trying to follow your instructions here, getting the stream from the database listing. When I hold down the gear icon, I am not getting the dialogue box as you show. Have tried many times. It just starts playing the station. 10.3.3. Any ideas?

Ok, I admit I love College radio stations.

This new app has me looking all over the web for streaming internet radio stations. I find a lot of streaming music services (not what I want), and internet radio players that provide an interface to many stations, but finding the streaming links to use in Streemur can be a chore.

Then I came across Good Radio. It is a web interface that links to a whole bunch of great college, public, community, and pirate stations. They have a iPad app that plays in the background, too. I have been using this to discover so many awesome radio stations, and I will probably stop relying on YouTube to discover new music.

    So now the best part...
You can find the streaming link very easily on the web interface. I listen and find a good station in the app, then pop over to the website to grab the streaming URL if I want to add it to Streemur.

Good Radio Tuner by Wrybread's Gizmoware

    http://goodradio.org/

So I found this cool station called DRONE on SomaFM.

I go to the website and hit the database button.

I use the quick jump to quickly find my station DRONE.

On the entry for DRONE, I press and hold the tiny gear icon until the menu appears.
    Select Copy from the menu.

In Streemur, open a user preset slot, paste the URL, hit save, hit done. Press your preset play button and enjoy!

  • @Crawlingwind Make sure you press and hold. If you just press, it plays. If you press and hold, the menu pops up. I had to hold for a good 2 seconds or so.

Make sure you are using Safari. It worked on my iPad 2, iOS 9.3.5. Also, make sure you hit the gear button. It is quite small.

I held it for a long time, when I let go, the file played. Will try again and check on the Safari angle. I went there through the link in the app. Pretty sure I did everything correctly. Thanks for the reply!

  • It works! If you go to the site through the Good Radio app link, it doesn't. Problem solved. Thanks for good advice.

  • is it possible to import your own custom 50 stations yet or is it still only 5?
