Not up for arguing, just putting an alternate view.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I would suggest that the millions you speak of are, largely, lesser beings. They create nothing other than endles selfies, babble on about their boring lives, hack virtual chunks out of anyone who thinks differently, and are fine with corporations harvesting data on every aspect of their lives.
These are not people who drive the world forward, they are sheeple, there only to be manipulated and fleeced of their money for stuff they don’t need.

Nor would we wish to.![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
Happily, here in the UK, we can buy older Mac stuff from Hoxton Macs. https://hoxtonmacs.co.uk/
Good gear, but can’t solve the issue of being forced to download latest versions, unless you have made provisions.
>
How very ageist.
Have you ever considered that, like your gramps, he has lived a lot longer than you, and just might know more stuff?
Is “more stuff” automatically more useful? Nope.
>
Yep, if that stuff is knowledge and experience.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
All of us, back when we first got into IT, knew a whole lot less than we do today. Surely, information and expertise informs our choices, for the better.
At some point, the supply of older iPad devices with old versions of iOS will run out. And at some point the supply of spares to keep older devices going will run out. So at some point, you will be forced to update your device, and your software.

Mine too.
That is one of the better things, here. Folk can discuss and find common ground.
Didn't bother to watch the rant; who has time for that? (I can tell from the title that I might agree in theory but not in practice. It's good, though, that Apple become aware that the desktop musicians, among the original Mac proselytizers, have limited patience.)
Anyway, I did wonder, Who is this Rick Beato? So I looked into his YouTube channel, and I'm so happy to have found his What Makes This Song Great series. Thanks to this thread for Totally entertaining. But while I don't question his musical acumen, I have to wonder: You chose Bowie, and the song you picked was "Let's Dance"?

With you there.
Let’s Dance was more Nile Rodger’s than Bromley Dave.
True.
I compare it to like one bitching about his or her connection. That unique mixture of dependency and resentment...
Apple is completely unable to produce a better working version of iTunes.
(this is amazing)
They are making tons of money, but they can't offer a current model of a mini mac or other desktop products.
(this is amazing)
Their app store (and the search functions) is a bag of shit, not depending if it is for iOS or for Mac software. There are so many people who could help Apple to significantly improve this, but Apple isn't interested in improving the App stores and prefers to annoy customers and losing money.
(this is amazing)
They completely disunderstand their customers and would love to see all of them using subscription models for every single purchase of software.
(this is amazing)
They praise themselfe for their privacy rules, but they earn every year billions of Dollar with their special Google-Deal - which means they are selling your data in big amounts to Big Data companies.
(this is amazing)
They think they are entitled for special tax agreements which results in paying almost no tax at all - and they believe these deals are an anagram of fairness.
(this is amazing)
As an employer they are one of the worst companies in the world - and they are quite unfair to their employees. For example, in case your are ill for more than 2 weeks within a year, you have a really very good chance to loose your job. This is an Apple rule.
(this is amazing)
Instead of "It just works!" they now have a port reducing policy (good for profits!) which annoys most of the customers.
(this is amazing)
Okay, this company is full of shit. There is no reason to "love" Apple, absolutely no reason. They are arrogant and they make a lot of mistakes. They just don't care.
But some of their products are quite OK.
Well, you've insulted people I know and respect, and millions you don't know.
I hope all your decisions in life aren't based on such judgmental and shallow generalizations, but I know that's the world we live in.
>
Rubbish. Such people invite insults, due to their extreme stupidity. Thanks to the majority of (anti) social media, the EU is attempting to wreck freedom of speech across the Net, voting on Article 13. But the mass of Facebook and Twitter users care more about posting selfies and towing the extreme Leftist line, crushing any intelligent debate.
This might be the world you like to live in, if you’ve even heard of Article 13, but the millions who died defending freedom in two world wars would disagree.
That said, and point made - by both of us - I will not respond to any further provocation. Have a lovely day.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)

Excellent post. Agree with all of your points!
Oh, so this is a political rant. I'm talking about real people who use Apple devices for a variety of purposes, including but not limited to social media, regardless of race, creed, or political persuasion. Wars were fought for the freedom of these people. You want to tar them all with the same brush, and I'll call that out as an elitist generalization. As long as we understand each other.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I susbscribed to his channel a while ago, most of his theory stuff is over my head right now but I also enjoy the more hands-on “What makes this song great” series - I think his choices are driven more by the characteristics of the song production rather than the actual song itself - and possibly also whether he can get the individual instrument/vocal tracks? (How does he get those BTW???). At least he picked “Everlong” from Foo Fighters, but I would have preferred a more classic NIN track!![:D :D](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
His rants about YouTube pulling his videos because of content blockers are entertaining/informative, but at least they are short, unlike some of the (much) longer “discussions” he has occasionally, I don’t have time for 45-60 minute “chats” about Gibson, Guitar Center etc
yes saw this recently, makes some good points about headphones, adaptors, about rendering other company products obsolete by introducing hardware changes frequently...
haha and Facetime ...hmm . never used it
