Cubasis vs. Beatmaker 3
I have been an avid Cubasis user since I began getting into IOS music making. I like many things about it, but must say it seems much more stable than Beatmaster 3. I like the routing possibilities in BM3, but seems it just crashes a bit often (mainly with Synthmaster 3). Also Cubasis has midi out, whereas BM3 doesn't ..Also I find the sound and headroom seems better in Cubasis for some reason, but maybe it's just me.. Also, the support for midi audio units in Cubasis works like a charm. Beatmaster 3 though utilises the layout space better for AU plugin windows..I wish in Cubasis one could hide away the wasted space of the keyboard and get more screen space of the AU.

@Antos3345
I think we talk about BeatMaker 3 ?
If you are that deep into Cubasis already, try pairing it with AUM to gain busses, great midi routing, and multiple AU windows open together. Plus get around the FX limit per track, and reorder FX.
ApeMatrix may be another good supplemental app, but I haven’t put in the time on that one yet to tell.
Or Beastmaster?
We are awaiting the BM3 update (I think it's 3.1) which promises many things. Besides, BM3 has Ableton Link, which is crucial for iPad music Production... The other boys don't..
Doesn't BM3 have Midi out?
More like MadMaker3 for me. That shit is frustrating to figure out! Always making me mad!
I think they only made Beastmaster and Beastmaster 2, no Beastmaster 3
@Antos3345 It’s not clear what you want to know about the differences. Have you watched this video?
Of course, Beatmaker 3 has Midi Out!
@CracklePot sounds very interesting, do you have any link to videos that show how to do combine aum and cubasis?
No sorry. I just figured it out by plodding through on my own. Maybe I should try and make some, or a written tutorial?
Can it sync to AUM?
yeah fixed it.,..lol..long day:)

Beastmaster 3: The Eye of Braxis
where's the midi out??
@CracklePot do it if you enjoy doing it. I think lots of people would like to know how combine these 2 essential apps.
Ableton Link Support +10 points for Beatmaker ..
I'm not a pro at either yet, but just my few thoughts this week so far..I am really liking BM3..Scenes rock, but can't find a way to make them into a proper and easy record to song mode like in Ableton..
Definitely, Blocs Wave is so important ... somewhat magical syncing and key/scale quantizing samples to a project... and slicing...
Proof of time travel
may have to try that as well..
I just wish Cubasis had better audio inout routing ..seems very limited.
That's a very honest and great video.. Yes, it's all down to the user.. They are both quite different.
How exactly do you pair Cubasis and AUM? Just route AUM output to Cunasis?
SAmple editing in BM3 is great. Also, some nice sounds if you're into that genre. But the MIDI editing in Cubasis is light years ahead. Since that is what I mainly do, I haven't used BM3 since I got Cubasis.
Wow ok. Yes, I have audioBus 3. I use Tardigrain, Model 15, Model D, Troublemaker. That's probably enough!
@Antkn33 Just saw your question, so TAG! (you’re it).
I use Audiobus 3 and AUM to do the audio routing. Sometimes host in those instead, sending Audio to Cubasis. Cubasis can send to Audiobus, which can send audio to AUM, which can send Audio back into Cubasis on a different track. AUM can send to Audiobus, which can send to Cubasis. The only weak link is sending Cubasis to AUM, because you only get the stereo master out to send to AUM, so you have to get into solo/mute strategies.
No, but AUM and the rest of the Link apps can sync to Cubasis via MidiLinkSync. To get the transport controls to all work together, you load AUM and Cubasis into Audiobus, then use Audiobus as the master transport via a combo of Link and IAA.
Any BM3 gurus got any tips for me? I can’t get my head around that app, but I want to. The workflow is just alien to me. BeatHawk too, in a similar way. I never used Abelton, could that have something to do with it?
OMG if beatmaker 3 makes even Cracklepot mad then I’m steering way clear of it just like I would beastmaster
MidiLinkSync don’t work for me in Cubasis...
Seems like Beathawk may have much to offer.. started to dig more into it..
I would never want to steer anyone away from BM3!
I just wish I could get it, like I know many other people around here do.
It is a work of beauty, created by an awesome, hard working developer.
I want to be able to be fully supportive of this great app, but I can’t really if I don’t get how to tap into its power.
Seriously, I want in to the BM3 club.
