    Do you have Beat Time?

So, I went for this as it fills a very annoying hole in my workflow, cheers for the heads up on it :)
    Still got £5 credit......

Spacecraft - most fun app I've bought in yonks, and it's only 3 quid.

Tempted after watching the vids for sure.

The price should go up soon, it’s a lot of app for the money.

Worth every penny, even just for the fun element, but already been used in a couple of tracks here.

Nothing's been announced by the dev, maybe he'll keep it as it is, but it's pretty much accepted it's a bit of a give-away at this price.

  • I'm confused, I see on the forum people promoting cheap apps then I see people promoting apps should cost more and I see a lot people complaining about what these app should do. We should just let the developers decide on what their apps should do and cost. If the app is broken lets help them but in general they are much smarter than us so let them work it out.> @MonzoPro said:

I see on this forum people wanting cheap apps and people wanting the apps to cost more and a lot of disappointment about the apps not doing want they want. Lets just be happy the app was 3 euro, lets be happy that it exists and let the developer look at the actual data, only he knows what to do. There is a lot we don't know about why apps have certain features and why they cost what they do. I'm all for what the the developer decides.

The dev already intimated that he's not super clued up on the ios production landscape. I think people are just giving a friendly, 'maybe you don't use ios much, this kind of app is generally worth more than you're charging'. No harm in that right? Imaginative apps that successfully translate in to an instrument like this are pretty rare in the grand scheme of ios. and now he can take those user thoughts onboard and decide to do whatever he feels like, but with a little more market research than he'd have if no one had said anything at all about it...

I think I probably started the price debate for that one.

My intention was indeed to suggest to a dev that is new to iOS that his app is probably worth more when stabilised and developed further.

He makes more well deserved $, we get more updates/apps ... seems like a decent deal to me.

We don't know how successful the other apps are as we don't see the data, how many apps have failed because the pricing was not correct etc. One user says 'i will pay 10 euro' another is thinking maybe i just get the other app.
With all respect we have no idea what the price should be. You need the right data to know that. You guys are awesome and I'm new here but can't we just be happy with what is here now instead of always making the next step. Probably later on today we will see someone upset that the price is too high for some app and the same logic applies. Also i notice people wait for apps to be on sale? so people have different idea about it.

Part of what makes this forum great is the interaction between devs and customers, and generally devs - particularly those new to iOS - can get a lot of useful feedback from seasoned iOS heads.

I think it’s important that good devs get a decent return on their work, particularly ones that create exceptional tools for us lot to work with, so they can keep doing what they do.

As a seasoned iOS head I think this app is underpriced, and if a tightarse like me thinks that then there’s definitely room for manoeuvre.

  • Hey @[Deleted User]. Welcome to this unique and marvelous forum. I like the ideas you bring up. My feeling is also let's be happy with all this miracle stuff and get on with it. But, the great thing about this place is every point of view can be aired and there is room to discuss ad infinitum subjects particular groups of people like to discuss. If it's the cost, ok. If it's what the devs should do, ok. If it's jazz, ok. If it is the deepest technical complexities, ok. If it is newbie basics, ok. If it's girl groups, ok.
It all seems to fit between the covers of this forum. And with remarkably little strife amongst the inmates.

Even though I think $50 for a full recording studio is a total bargain, I dig waiting for a $25 sale so I can talk my friends into getting it! You are new to this forum as I am. Sometimes the things I say draws attention, mostly they are ignored and probably for the better, but no one ever seems to say "why don't you shut up already" or "that's a stupid question". Your comments are taken seriously and participants take you seriously, as do I. I often find myself confronting my own ego
(Quietly in the privacy of my own mind) about stuff I'd like to say, or have said, or reactions to creative posts I make, and on reflection I think this forum somehow makes me a better person and tempers my self centered nature because of the largess, kindness and good spiritedness of this particular community. Frankly, I don't want to make a fool out of myself in front of such a cool bunch of people! So, for me, it acts on many, many levels and I don't think many other forums exist with such richness to offer anyone who comes with a good heart and a love of music making. So, if someone wants to talk about the influence of alien abductions on app developers or the future danger of Bitcoin to the iOS world I say go for it. Someone will be interested, and me, I can search for a thread about omphaloskepticism and it's effect on granular synthesis.
Say your peace @[Deleted User] but no one, in my opinion, will ever stop chortling over the $3 app they just got or bitching about the $3 app they just got. And don't forget, all age groups are here at the party. The generations see things differently.
    Anyway, welcome!

I am, one month and a ton of apps in. I have some old hardware synths, piano, bass, eurorack and other instruments hooked up to Ableton live. I make electronic music but practice JS Bach on the piano most of my spare time. I spend a lot of time traveling so I took the decision to buy an iPad Pro and make electronic music when I travel. Really it’s been amazing, the apps are so much better than I could have hoped for. AUM and audioshare are my favourite apps and I was blown away by synthscaper. I seem to be hanging out at this forum a lot.

  • Picked up Apematrix the other day and while it takes a while to wrap your head around the interface I am really enjoying it. Since it is a new app from a highly respected developer I’m sure it is only going to get better and better. So that is my current pick!

  • @[Deleted User] I think you have a the right idea about letting the devs do their thing. Still, everybody has an opinion on this it seems. I just try to be like “whatever...” unless people get disrespectful or abusive.

I also feel we should work with the devs, and not act like they work for us. Sure we pay a small fee to use the apps, but I try to promote the idea that we are on the same team as the developers. I don’t think the usual arguments concerning markets, target audience, buyer rights, customer service, etc. should be brought into the discussion.
I have a strong feeling most developers do this out of love for creating amazing tools, rather than getting rich or ever as a sole means of income. I think a lot make music as well, just like the rest of us.

I need to stop myself before getting too long winded. :D
Mainly just wanted to agree with your stance on developer interaction, and say welcome aboard the bus. I have been enjoying your posts since you joined us.

  • Just wanted to say welcome @[Deleted User] , as others have said, this a great forum and, by and large, differences of opinions are welcomed.

I’ve been known to blurt out my share of hardly thought through ideas certainly.

Using when bored and I’ve had a couple on the workday wind down. :D

Obviously some of you really care about keeping a friendly and openminded discussion going. OK enough mushy talk! I'm off to probably upset someone in another post ;-)
