I still use and abuse groovebox tho 😂 one of my favs.... But I'd love to see some parameter automation recording within the app !
Hit 'em up on Twitter. It is more visible so you tend to get a quicker response from companies.
Didn't they just release an update for Launchpad? They are also still rolling out soundpacks, so not sure what you are referring to.
@shiftsynth1 their focus seems to be sound packs.
Sound packs = $$$ = development
Your lips = God's ears
But allowing preset saving and MIDI file export in Groovebox would make for some very happy punters!
In this slice of the ‘nu economy’ making users happy is bad for business. You want to frustrate them and get them addicted to small releases of anxiety via micro transactions. Yay!
Last Launchpad update is quite nice. They seems to have read our recent discussion, as loops genre labels have come back on iPhone version. Could be even better with loop name, but I think there is not enough space. Also, this version is first one since new GUI which don’t have any crackles on my iPhone. Pretty stable.
I still get excited every time I see that update drop! But no...
Only two apps matter anymore. The rest are minor bit players/curiosities.
. Wink. (Been one of those days)
How can I save/export/send a Project to other iPad/iPhone ?
Spill the beans!
You can kind of get around the preset thing by making projects = presets. MIDI file export is the big one for me. Still love the Ampify apps though. They get the creative flow going.
@Janosax that’s good to know.
(The two that are damn near all I need are BM3 and SynthMaster One. They are so so close to mobile utopia for me. The only missing iOS tooth is a good AU creative multi fx ala Effectrix/Turnado)
Anywho, (in the interests of staying on topic) I recently did do a big consolidation of track sketches and stems on the desktop and gotta say the Blocs/Groovebox phase certainly did yield a lot of fruit. Respect... sort of. Another wink.
They have been promising filing for blocs Wave for about two years now... it does annoy me all the ‘new Atlantic prawn hits’ or whatever- but no communication- unless it suits them for some reason.
...edited. yah one of them days.
Thats exactly what I am talking about,
However... and this is a big one...
ABOVE ALL - I want this team to stay in business and keep their apps alive so if focussing on soundpacks over feature requests does that then I’ll take that compromise at the end of the day.
i have worked on games where easy to implement fun features had to be intentionally left out for the sake of biz strategy. ack, that can be soul sucking for a dev.
Nice to see you again, Mr. Goodyear.
Midi out would transform Groovebox. A power filing system and triple the Blocs would make Blocks Wave into a pro version. Many of us here would pay for these and other IAP’s....but I think we are too few.
I a,m on the verge of giving up with Groovebox.
They are gone. Both from this forum and my iPad dock.
Starting to feel the same. They sound very good, but the apparent level of cynicism is offputting. It’s like they’re testing us to see how gullible we are. (Maybe it’s a mass psychology experiment😉)
I agree, we have been asking for this , I would gladly pay IAP for this.

No, these aren’t bad guys. It’s just business. If you had, I don’t know how many, let’s say 1,000 kids on one side who just want to make EDM tracks, and on the other side 100 IOS musicians, the math does itself.
What does rankle a little more is the years of using this place as a test bed, getting massively competent feedback, and saying that various requests were in the works.....Then it all goes silent, and updates are just bug fixes, or fresh coats of paint. There is no real development.
Obviously, any commercial concern has to allocate work time in the best way, but I really don’t see what is so difficult in adding midi out - a well establishing thing for coders - to Groovebox, or to keep developing Blocs Wave, which I still believe to be a small revolution.
How many people have to request a feature, and offer to pay for it, before developing that feature is economically viable?
OK so maybe @AmpifyxNovation don't post on here as much as they have in the past...BUT....they are still doing development at a steady rate, that has not changed. And yes it can be frustrating when you are waiting for a feature that seems to never appear.
Over the last couple of months we have had Launchkey integration in Groovebox as well as real time key changing in Launchpad...neither of these is a small thing to implement.
They are VERY careful NOT to promise things they will not deliver...so if they have promised a feature, rest assured that it WILL be on the list for doing.
We are a tiny part of their user base, but they do still listen to us, even if they don't necessarily reply as often as some would like.
As often, we don’t realize that we can’t have 5 or 10 € apps and hope them to meet all our expectations. This is frustrating, and lot of us could easily buy a full featured BW, LP or GB for 30/40 € each. But at this price point, they will sell much less! And to be honest, I like those apps low price point too, it gives some freedom to buy easily what I need. iOS is still a modular thing, no choice we need to use multiple apps at the same time to try to have most features we need, and manage limits which will still be there. At some point, going laptop is almost impossible to avoid IMO. I try hard to, but workflow speed and real DAW capabilities spell my name everyday!! Lol
BTW, one thing I really like in BW is its sample slip feature, pretty unique and easy to use and helps so much with latency compensation after recording though AB. A must have, and I’m glad to have that iOS app to work with which helps my beats to have that impact they are supposed to have.
“I must bend all devs to my will!” If you can’t make music with @AmpifyxNovation apps as they are (and this applies to most other apps) then find a new hobby. The constant dev bashing/whining/demanding/sulking around here is quite tiresome. How’s your day going?
Amen Brother !
