Wtf?
I can’t even load presets.
Choosing iCloud storage causes there to be no factory presets.
Randomizer does nothing?
I’m not off to a good start here...
I had the same issue. The developer is working on it. Open the app as standalone the first time. Then open as AU from then on. If you still have trouble let @ka010 know your device details.
Who the heck puts their app on sale when there’s a known show-stopping bug?? Weird.
I do the open as standalone first thing with every app, this included. Uninstalled, reinstalled, the usual dance. At 2:30 am I’m not making bug reports. Wake me up when the thing actually works.
Grrrr...
Same problem here. No presets and it keeps crashing. Bummer!
Same issue for me, patches don't load even if i select them. Both iPhoneX and iPad Pro 10.5".
@ka010
Ugh, that stuff was supposed to happen during beta... did you all migrate to iCloud or did you stick to local storage?
I chose local storage on my 10.5 and it worked with no preset issues.
Alright, apparently there's an issue where the local storage option does not work properly if the app was not installed before (or is being deleted/reinstalled). However, when migrating to iCloud there shouldn't be any issues either when upgrading or doing a fresh install.
I will submit a fix right away, hopefully it'll be available later today.
Thanks @ka010.
Yeah - fresh install for me. Not sure about "there shouldn't be any issues" re iCloud - tried reinstalling and choosing iCloud - patch library comes up empty.
With local storage lots of patches, but they won't load.
@ka010 quick question, when I update will it preserve my existing user presets? I've created a few and I don't want to lose them!
It wont delete anything even if migration goes wrong, but if you want to use local storage I suggest you wait for 1.3.1.
It might take a couple minutes for iCloud to sync, I've seen this behave fairly inconsistently during testing. If you chose iCloud you should be able to see your patches in iCloud Drive using the Files.app could you have a look, see if they show up there?
Just submitted 1.3.1 including the following:
Sorry for any trouble this may have caused. Hopefully, the update will be out by tomorrow latest.
@ka010 Just updated with no issues - thanks.
One request (sorry to be demanding!), it's great we now have the ability to easily export presets, but it would also be really useful to be able to create (and import) new banks. That way individual sound designers could create their own banks.
Also, what's the process for importing presets? Is it using Open In?
Good to know it's not all broken
Banks are on my list for the next update. As for importing, if you're using iCloud you'll have a VOLT folder in iCloud Drive where all your presets reside. You can simply stick them in there either from a Mac or via the Files.app on iOS. If you want to import a preset that's stored outside of iCloud Drive, you can use the share dialogue where it should give you the option to save the file to iCloud Drive.
I just installed and, of course, chose local storage so as to not have this problem. I can't load any presets. Hope this gets fixed soon.
OK so I chose the iCloud option when I launched Volt, however when I use the Files app to look on my iCloud Drive I see no sign of a Volt folder.
Also, what if a user has chosen the local storage option, how would they import sounds?
@ka010 Just wondering if there's any progress on the buffer size issue in Auria, where the AU only works if the buffer size in Auria is set to 256? I was reading on a dev forum somewhere (can't find the link right now but I'll try to pull it up later and post the link) that similar issues have bitten some devs when using the example AU buffer-size code provided by Apple, something about it being hard-coded in the example and/or not handling host buffer size change requests. Or something. It's great that the manual 256 setting is a workaround that allows it to work in Auria, but it's also a little irritating when putting together larger projects, as that small buffer size is pretty limiting.
Other than that I really love this synth! Fantastic sounds and very expressive. Thanks for all your hard work on this great instrument. It's featured prominently this track, which was my Song Of The Month entry for June:

Wow this cool stuff! Love the drums the way you sequenced them! Really enjoyable track!
By far the best randomizer I have ever seen...wow wow wooooow
@ka010 This is what I’ve experienced: I already had Volt on my iPad Pro 9.7 (latest iOS). I updated and chose iCloud storage, selected a preset and the app crashed. When I reopened, the presets had disappeared. I deleted and reinstalled Volt, selecting iCloud again and got exactly the same outcome. After reading the posts in this thread, I deleted and reinstalled a second time but selected local storage. Now the presets are there, but selecting them gives me no sound. I hope you can get this sorted soon as Volt is my go to workhorse synth and I love it!
Alright, 1.3.1 has been approved and should be available shortly. iCloud migration will no longer require a restart and any issues with local storage should be fixed as well. If anything still wont work please let me know.
@ka010 just in case you didn't see my questions earlier:
OK so I chose the iCloud option when I launched Volt, however when I use the Files app to look on my iCloud Drive I see no sign of a Volt folder.
Also, what if a user has chosen the local storage option, how would they import sounds?
I get a list of presets but nothing changes when I select them, tried both local and icloud, I can save my own presets, but cant get into the factory ones.
I begged repeatedly for this discount at the start of the month to play so I have to pay up
to honor the response for more buyers. I support dev's that interact with the community and keep striving to knock off enhancement requests. Purchased.
Sorry, needed to get some sleep. Did you upgrade to 1.3.1 yet? If not, chances are migration failed and that's the reason the folder doesn't show. As for importing, if you have a .aupreset in mail or dropbox (or anywhere else) you can use the open in or share feature to copy the preset to VOLT which will import it into it's library.
Have you upgraded to 1.3.1 yet? If not please give that a try and let me know in case they still wont load.
Thanks dude, I appreciate it!
@ka010 updated and now everything seems to work fine. Awesome work - thanks for the very quick fix. Love the synth.
Great, thanks for the feedback!
