Also within one streambyter preset you can have a load of different presets/set-ups for your BopPad which you can switch using a midi message/s. So loads of different drum set ups you can use on the fly. Programing it is tricksy.... well I would find it difficult. The developer is always very helpful though.
Because I’m completely clueless!
with just one day ownership as the only excuse.
I've started using my IKM Blueboard pedalboard to control Ableton Live on Windows 10 using Studiomux/iPhone 7 Plus. That works well and is stable enough to be a solution to control Live with that pedalboard which is not W10 BT compatble.
I'm used to use Blueboard with Loopy/AB/AUM and VoiceRackFX which is able to change presets with one and only button.
I wish to replicate this with Live, using Streambyter/Studiomux.
Here are my needs:
1- First and second Blueboard button plays C3 and D3, Ableton manage only single tap, Loopy is able to manage single/double/hold taps. So here I need the script able to doing that, to trigger some audio/midi loops in Live. As Ableton only reads CC, PC and midi notes for remote, first button C3 should gives for example: single tap C3, double tap, C4, hold C5. Same thing for second button D3 >> single tap D3, double tap D4, hold D5. So these are 6 actions with 2 buttons. (in Loopy double taps gives fade/in/out).
2- Third button E3 should control Ableton Live Looper device, with single tap giving E3 for record/overdub, double tap E4 for stop, E5 hold for clear loop.
3- In Ableton, I use Effect Rack chains to alternate between 4 custom presets of the same pitching effect. This is my main issue, as I have to use the 4 Blueboard buttons to select them, not leaving any buttons for other actions. What I need is this: fourth F3 button single tap gives F3, then G3, then A3, then B3 and cycling that, double tap gives F3, then B3, then A3, then G3 and cycling that. This is how I use VoicerackFX on my iOS setup, except I can only do single tap/forward presets cycling.
Summup:
1st button C3 : single tap C3, double tap C4, hold C5
2nd button D3: single tap D3, double tap D4, hold D5
3rd button E3: single tap E3, double tap E4, hold E5
4rth button F3: single tap cycling >> F3, G3, A3, B3 >> and double tap cycling the other way >> F3, B3, A3, G3 >>
Long question short: is this possible with Streambyter?
And... I dont think I will be able to write the script, does the dev still giving some help/support writing them for users?
A similar script could be useful on iOS too, as it could extend my iPhone only setup capabilities.
I can't seem to load or save user scripts. I tried both in stand alone and AUM. I had to copy and paste my text and save the AUM preset instead. It's a pain if I want to use more than one script. Am I missing something?
I've noted some inconsistent behavior with saving presets in SB in AB3 too. I can usually get it to work eventually but I can't really tell you why or how it works.
This is news and worthy of a thread with an "LFO Automation" headline.
These types of controls are hot right now. For some this news event and video is buried on page 8.
I keep clinking on some Forum threads and not realizing the conversation is multi-years long. Sometimes I offer advice for the OP's question from 2017.
Yeah love the new version, decimals too
Is this in beta? Can’t see an update on the UK store, it shows version 1.2
It's in beta still I think
Great to see presets for the uninitiated!
This update is live now, looking forward to playing with this.
Wow. Amazing.
Interestingly all these concepts were also announced for Mozaic...
But do I want to write MIDI rules in assembler...
I think I'm going to wait for Brambos' implementation. I figure he won't force me to use Hex and memorize cryptic 3 letter acronyms.
I've already suggested this more than half a year ago but who knows, your announcement might have given him another nudge to re-consider
I wouldn’t think this would discourage you...

I mean, hell, you are Brambos!
@brambos I’m not a scripter full stop so if the key to Mozaic is easy to understand scripting and loads of presets to wet my appetite what the app is capable of I’m in.
Big fan of Nic Grant's MidiFire and StreamByter.
I'll still be buying Mozaic on release day though.
There's room for both and I'll be buying Mozaic, I'm more likely to want to write stuff on Mozaic as the language is friendlier and the gui more advanced, whilst I can tweak scripts and do basic stuff with Streambyter.
As were many of the concepts in Mozaic preceded by StreamByter. There’s room for everyone in the pool!
Judging from my initial reading of the coding needed to make use these faders. I don’t think there’s a lot to fear about overlap. Streambyter definitely doesn’t go out of it’s way to be easy to understand.
The fun way to use Streambyter is to request a script on the Audeonic Soapbox Forum.
@Janosax has done this and got some really clever tools for Bluetooth Pedals and such.
@_Ki has handcrafted some great solutions.
Like a script to make Sustain Pedal events work on synths that don't support sustain (he saves the Note On's in a list with Pedal down events and sends the Note Offs in a batch when the pedal lifts). This works for NS2 Obsidian Synth but only when run external to NS2 using MidiFire since the MIDI FX feature for StreamByter AU doesn't work in NS2.
Of course, @_Ki will probably be all over Mosaic when it ships (he's probably the perfect beta tester with his programming skills) and he'll probably share scripts for it as well. He has a mind for puzzle solving and he finds solutions fast.
I think have 3-5 solutions for each type of App use case is a good thing rather than a single
option that might miss too many use cases. I hope we see a lot of scriptable MIDI tools this year and next. I'll buy 'em all.
I still have some streambyter scripts ‚in the works‘, but currently don‘t have enough time to finish these. The new features like faders look nice and i will incorporate them into my scripts.
.
Regarding mosaic (and hopefully other upcoming scripting AUs):
. . . . Probably its like with programming languages - depending on the problem and boundary conditions one needs to choose the best-fitting language. That‘s why informatics teaches algorithms and concepts instead of programming in specific languages.
It's all relative maaaan...
The Internet is becoming a graveyard just as our actual earth is. Only a few generations alive at one time, the rest are being fossilised as we speak.
Sorry if this sounds insensitive.
My mate asked nic to help him make this for a live set. Awesome!
I just tried it, works a treat!
Hi, i just updated the StreamByter wiki page with a categorized table of the available scripts and added some more links to the 'Additional Info' section.
Thanks!
